Looked out of the kitchen window whilst washing up and saw a man in the field behind our house. "What's he up to ?" I wondered....then I noticed he had a metal detector and was scouring the field. When I went upstairs I saw that there were 3 of them! Hope they don't find a hidden hoard - we lead a quiet life around these parts....lol


Haven't had the grandchildren today as one of them is poorly but we should be back to normal tomorrow.

Well Renes - I can't say that I 'love' going to the Dentist but I really don't mind it

My Dentist is lovely and I really trust him - I never have an injection when I have a filling - he gives me a choice of with or without and I just ask him if it would be O.k. without - If he says yes then that is what I do.

Far better than all that 'numb face and drooling, I agree.

Your tray thingy sounds really lovely, I will try to think of something to put on there - you must be a very close family.

Not long now until your sister comes, I bet you are Soooo excited.

Need another shower as I have to wash hair and it takes forever to dry

Up and off up norf at 7.00am and have to have dinner with the client so wont get back home until about 11.30pm only to go back 7 hours later

You guys ... its about people who are *plainly* exploiting the "volunteer helpers" here to do things that *they* are getting paid for.

Someone who posts 150 threads in 2 months asking mainly for census lookups is just *not* researching their family.


... but y'know, tree searches do find the names ... so it's just a case of getting someone else to do that work for free that one might have to pay quite a small amount to do for one's self. I guess there are those who find doing dozens of "lookups" for somebody else's tree more interesting than I do ...

Why don't you stay overnight Ginny?

You get a lovely big breakfast and it will save you all that driving !

Like you all, I just enjoy being able to help.

If I wanted to help such people, I would rather make a living out of it for myself, so it is good to have them identified !!

However, thankfully, that is not what it is all about with the majority of helpers on here!

Yes the client did offer me an over night stay but I like 'home' and it's only an hour back at that time of night...45 minutes if I put my foot down

I like a cuddle with JB and a cup of Assam in the morning and I never sleep in hotels

DON'T put your foot down Gins - take it steady and keep safe !!

JB will wait for an extra 15 minutes !! (lower him down to gas mark 1 and let him simmer !!)

I suppose I am a little bit 'spoilt' - I spent 10 years or so working over in Spain, on and off, staying in various hotels which became like my 'second home' - I knew all the staff and they knew me and cooked whatever I wanted for breakfast and treated me like a member of their family - It was very nice and I had everything I could possibly want.

I had company and conversation in the evening and was also pampered by the local restaurant owners and their families.

It wasn't like staying in a 'Travel lodge' somewhere - 'cold and unfriendly' !

I really miss that now I can no longer do it.

MUST go back and visit them all again some time.

Dea - I think use girls are close - because we are apart - if you see what I mean - our littlest sister is in Australia - so we do not see her often - but we send her surprises -

I sent her a superb plastic mushroom - ( made of the very best chinese cheap plastic ) and when you pushed on the mushroom - a tooth pick popped up - she said they laughed all day at it -

I KNOW there are a lot of JANE DAVIES,s born that time in Bedwellty reg district,which is why I gave them parents names and filled in the online order with the 01/01/50 as told if you were not sure of dates so that they would do a search as it says on their data.
And they havent,lazy So and so,s.

True ,they found one for me elswhere,but that wasnt Davies and only a choice of 3,but honestly you would think they would do what they say.
Phone call tomorrow I think.

Now I will have to bother Bedwellty with it I guess
