Dea....stop worrying.....Gins is......well, Gins.

Janey, it isn't a major search or anything so don't want to waste anyone's time and I need to hone my researching skills. Just getting advice from the experts on here. I really do not know anything about them I was just working backwards from Wilhelmina's daughter whom I happen to know. Don't know about Cock/Cockermouth 'cos when I googled it, I was taken to the adult page......hahahahahaha

Edit.......Oh Fans....don't want to take up your skills when there are more needy people looking for help from you and JC. Thanks both but .........I'm all embarrassed now.

Had forgotten all about the upset when that character died in The Archers. And the way that the Beeb was inundated with people who thoguht it was all real

Me mum and dad used to listen to it every night .............. it's still going isn't it? If so, t's the longest-running soap in the world ... and Coronation Street isn't far behind, despite what the US networks say.

The Archers has a cult following still Sylvs. I only listen on Sundays when I'm doing a fair bit of driving to be honest. My grandad's dog used to sit patiently waiting till he heard the theme tune played the second time and then he would go and get his lead.....and that's nearly 50 years ago.

Cynthia ... imagine my fun as I hunted and hunted for old Ernest Hill/Monck's sister's kids under their father's fake name .................. McCock.

Search trees here for it.

No, Jock McCock is not a real person. Nor are any of his family members. The tree owner didn't know Jock's real surname, so that's what he landed him with. Yes, I inquired. Quite excited, I was.

Anyhow, the googling did find me the son in the Imperial Yeomanry at Kevin Asplin's site eventually. And a novelist in South Africa named Cyril McCock who I fantasized was the grandson of Ernest's sister -- the son of my grfather's first cousin. Bought a book of his on line from a children's charity in Port Elizabeth. No bio though. But then last year I searched trees again ... and there was N McC, born in Port Elizabeth. The genuine article. A greatx2 granddaughter of my grx2 grandparents Hill from Cornwall. Whom, of course, she had never heard of. She'd never even heard of her own gr-grmother, my Ernest's sister ...

So my recommendation for this pantomime coffee bar thingy. Go as one of the seven deadly sins. I was Lust at a Hallowe'en party once. ;)
