Well.........it's pouring with rain and I'm off to welcome patients into the wonderful world of my local hospital. If we can make them smile as they enter those worthy portals in a state of trepidation, then it is all worthwhile.

I've had an absolue blast this last week..... a very interesting week.

Rolf Harris was amazing, and a very nice bloke indeed (and yes he did 2 little boys) infact the entire audience sang most of the song for him..... i could have cried!!!

Fly home tomorrow night and staying in Wales, so back home Thursday evening

Reading thru the girls threads of last night - it seems to me some people do not want to research their tree - they just want to fill in names found by other people

I managed to make a tree of over 400 people going back to 1700 s - using a "dial up" internet - before broadband came here - without any subscriptions ( I did not know they existed ) - using parish records - writing emails and asking for look ups at the History centres - using the free 1881 census - and the parish census free on line - freebmd - and familysearch - and without any family information - except my memory

Now I am not saying this as a boast - but if you decide start to RESEARCH a family tree - surely you research -

Yes we all "lose people" - I have several - and I have asked for help - but the truth is they are "lost" it happens

I am happy that I found all I have found - and most of all I searched and searched to find the 4 children my Granny said had died on the 1911 census - they are now recorded for ever -

What satisfaction would there really be - asking someone to find them - before I had searched - they are my family

When I read the comments made to Jax and Jc it just makes me wonder Why

We went to Champex Lac yesterday, my SIL has an apartment there. It is like a film setting, sat on the balcony looking over the lake and a view of the mountains every way we looked....amazing....will up load to FB when I get back

Switzerland is so expensive - we were driving back from Italy once and somehow had to use a little - and I mean little drive on the motorway that went into Switzerland for about 10 minutes and came out again - cost us 20 pounds in toll fees

Would have been cheaper to driven off and took the other road ----------OH again wanting to zoom along motorways

Have just had a pm from a chappie who is struggling with the workings of this site. Trouble is, he has been struggling since last April and our correspondence is getting mega. The first question he asked me back in April was....."you aren't a computer are you?". Have got to the stage where I don't know what else I can help him with as he hasn't even really grasped what a thread is!


Had some laughs at the hosp this morning - we are known as a cheerful team!

The woman I mentioned who deleted her thread about the husband son of the landed gentry gent -- no, she deleted purely for privacy reasons, I'd laid out the theory there, and when it turned out to be true, seemed best to keep it in the family! She stayed in touch by email.

I cannot remember exactly maybe cyn can?
But said you were rude and you did'nt need to help if you are going to treat people this way and she was not going to renew her membership.
I did an advance search and could not find any other posts by her
