Sigh. Everybody knows I do the week's food prep while watching teevee on weekend mornings! Me, my lap tray and my cutting board on the chesterfield, chopping away. I woke up late this morning and only had time to do cannelloni-stuffing before the dreaded sports on television started and I left the house.

I have helpfully set N* straight. How his Aunt Em managed to have children without marrying while running her papa's potted meat shop, well, who knows, could have. But she was past 30 when she started, if so. Well ... there are a few possibles in Birmingham/Aston 1911-1935 ... Otherwise, maybe he's hunted himself into being heir to a defunct tripe shop.

Blanchflower, means nothing, played hockey? 1958, I wasn't really up on world events at the time. But I know my hockey, I do. I watched Paul Henderson score that goal, having an off afternoon from classes and no cable TV and nothing to do but drink vodka and watch that or The Edge of Night.

What's long and yellow and plays hockey?
Everybody knows that one; Stan Chiquita.

But nobody knows my own: What's brown and lumpy and plays hockey?
And it isn't Bobby Turd.

Her Alice May with mother Emily Townsend is the same age as our Emily Townsend.

N*'s grandmother is the Florence Lily in the 1911 household.

Marriages Dec 1913
Townsend Florence L [N*'s surname] Aston 6d 769
[N*'s surname] Anthony J Townsend Aston 6d 769

Their child Archibald is N*'s father.

If nothing else, N* is a twit. How too obvious is it that the 1911 household is his??

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 29 Aug 2010 00:13

Tsk, Phil Espotato.

And I've determined that Emily's real name was Scott, and N*'s great-grandparents weren't married. Snicker.

Who *is* this person?

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.asp?wci=thread&tk=1237263&px=3

see my post on that page.

Their first lookup thread was deleted, because I asked nicely that they state prominently that people should NOT duplicate requests by posting in their thread if they already had a thread. I then found info for one of the people who posted in the lookup thread that this poster had not found, and objected to two others posting in the lookup thread and also having their own threads. The poster pitched a fit, became nasty and territorial about their thread (sorry, pal, we pay our fee, we post where we want), and deleted it.

Now I see in the Geuzetian thread it's happening again.

Anybody else who wants to ask nicely in the lookup thread, please do.

I was going to mention that I had found info re census on him but I was following that night when it all kicked off on her other thread....so I thought no you carry on lol.

I know I had my own look up thread before it was whooooshed, but to be honest I cannot be bothered now too many duplications coming up

ja...x

edit - did'nt realise he had one on surnames too

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 29 Aug 2010 01:24

don't know whi he / she is .... but have noticed the name frequently in the last few weeks, doing lookups on threads, and then this thread offering to do look ups.

I have found references (where name mentioned by another poster, e.g. replying to their post in a thread) going back to May 2009, and yet somehow under my radar.

Oh look.

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.asp?wci=thread&tk=1149833

Lookup thread May 2009, I wonder how many multiplicates in those 380 posts.

Oh, I love this, in a thread of Tracey's:

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.asp?wci=thread&tk=1155699

"OK Peeps, need a second opinion on 'Mary' ..."

"Opinions are not worthwhile."

Yeesh. Way to play along, and maybe pay attention to who the person one is addressing is.

On records office alone there are loads of look up threads in that name going back to 2008 why start a new one rather than nudge up the old one?

I wonder. I don't think I've ever searched trees for surname Canuck. Why didn't any of you smartypantses tell me I could do that??

Ha. Supposedly, someone named Iy Canuck is a member here. Well it ain't moi and it ain't my cousin.
