My Dad was from Gods country - Yorkshire - Mum a Londoner - although born in Beckenham Kent - of Dorset parents

I was born on Bolton - Dad was stationed there at end of war -one of my brothers - 2 years older - born Bradford -

As a kid lived in S E London - then Broadstairs - then Beckenham - then married and lived outside Ashford Kent
Then left - Paul and I moved to Cambridgeshire - stayed
there until we moved to Spain

So no idea what accent I have - Paul has a London accent - although born and raised in Medway Towns Kent

My Dad was a right "ee by gumm" accent

Must say it was bit of a shock at first - meeting "Fenners" but we did like living out on the Fens - very very flat - so very odd people there I must say - it was apparently cut of for 200 years - or so

But - the best potatoes are grown in Fenland - on the black soil - I love tatties -

Spanish potatoes are awful -

Are the kids in the north or south of Cambs

They are actually on the borders with Hertfordshire, but there is nothing there shopping wise. Its about 15 miles from Cambridge.

Was suprised when I started this tree lark that I have two sides of my family coming from that area.

nearest shopping area for us was Peterborough - but apart from shopping centre - not much else

My daughter still lives there - she loves it and would never move - she is north of Cambridge and my SIL works at Ely -

My niece also lives in Cambridge City centre so still have a lot of ties to Cambs -

It very cold out on the Fens in winter - biting East wind - bit of a shock at first coming from Kent

Am doing a tree for my friend - she is also my grandsons godmother - and her family lived put on the Fens for several hundred years - she lives in Wales now - she always said she would never leave !!!
