does no good telling daughters (or sons)

and much better not to say anything to them

but sometimes hard not to say something, or hard to camouflage real feelings!

I'll die knowing lots...but not enough...or maybe too much

If I die with my kids being happy, that will be enough

Gins

I figure that is the best we can do

give our kids the best start in life that we can, thus giving them all the opportunities that we can

then it's up to them to make the best they can of the opportunities they have been given.

and hopefully, they will be happy and healthy

Just to 'lighten things' a little.

My Grandson (almost 2) was encouraged by his sister to bring his toy sword with him today, I managed to 'hide' it away while he was here because, I have to say, he is NOT a 'gentle' child.

Stocky by build and very strong - he doesn't do anything 'by half' - His father is a plumber and does lots of D-I-Y so lots of tools in the house and 'bang bang', hammer hammer', drill drill', 'saw saw', are the sort of actions he likes to duplicate - you have to be very careful what you let him have or he could 'demolish a wall' in minutes!!

Anyway, on the way home, he again had his (plastic) sword - He was in his seat behind me and I was watching out 'to the left' and 'to the right' for the swishing blade, then, suddenly I felt something in the back of my neck. He had found the little space between my seat and it's headrest and was SO pleased with himself as he managed to poke the sword through with great force.

I spent the rest of the journey leaning forward with my head almost on the dashboard to avoid being decapitated!!

Such giggles though, which was very nice because he is 'teething' at the moment and had been a 'bit off' with the pain during the day !!!

Hi Dea

Good job you have a sense of humour - being proded thru a head rest does not seem fun to me - I am still suffering from the time I was laying quietly on the floor - watching teletubbies - when my 2 year old
grandson decided to jump on my stomach - Coz he was " excited at Tiinky Winky "

9 years later I never lay on the floor - nor watch Teletubbies !!!!!

There ain't no more Teletubbies I don't think Rene. Been replaced by other daft creatures!!

My grandkids are into Tracey Beaker......my OH doesn't like her...says she is always telling lies! Don't ask me why he watches it though!

Horrible Histories is another favourite.

I have just received a photo from them on hols in Newquay (welsh one) and they are in their wet suits.....arghhhh.

Just worry your Nana why don't you.....!!!

Fans

I should have said that Isabella Park married to Robert Park is the sis-in-law of the one I'm looking for.

Robert is OH's gt grandfather

and that 1919 death is hers (ie, Robert's wife's death)

They did like to keep names in the family!

That 1916 death does look interesting ......... but then why couldn't I see her on the 1911 Census?

and no, I do not seriously think she married after 1901, although 54 is not old for some of that family ....... but those others tended to have been taking care of elderly parents, and she most certainly was not!

OUCH Rene

Maybe she was a suffra wotsit?

Sugared Almond anyone?
Bezzie brought me lots of little bags that were being given out at her nieces wedding on friday...

What were those large doll thingies called? Coloured bodies and weird hair. They were on at the same time as the Teletubbies........
