I have once or twice recieved help on this site, and do really appreciate it. Having said that I am not good at following threads and 'back tracking' so it's all a bit 'hit and miss'. |

Hi Lesley, this has been suggested to Genes. However, I remember Janey C. once saying something about having a facility where you could choose whether or not you wanted to receive notification of replies to threads as it may drive you nuts. I suppose for those of us who are on and off here regularly I can understand that. I think its probably clearer and more obvious guidelines to board usage which is needed. Cx |

Hi, Cynthia, youre probably right, I have been using genes for a couple or more years now and still find it difficult to follow, but I'll carry on regardless. i just know how important it is that we keep track once we have posted but sometimes admittedly (not often) missed replies as I have had to go to work etc etc...but I am truly grateful for all the assistance i have had...........Thanks Lesley. |

I often add PM,s to a thread if the info given isnt sensitive, and advise the writer that i am going to do it. I will also advise them to answer on the thread rather than click on a name as this only sends a PM |

Just to say I think I have been showing my appreciation to you, unless there is another Cynthia; but I have been trying to thank people individually. Trouble is there are so many places to get into, I think i'm just finding my way around now and beginning to understand the different ways of contacting and being contacted. |

I now realise I'm not as stupid as I first thought with all this message and contact stuff, as it seems to me reading other messages as there are people just as confused as i've been and its a very comforting thought. For all that, I can't understand why people would be rude and ungrateful, after all they don't have to use the site or take peoples advice. To all those who've helped me I'm one very thankful person. Keep on doing what you do best is my advice, I just hope nobody asks me to help them find their way around this damn minefield. Regards J |

I understand what you are saying Cathy. If any of the message is of a sensitive nature or the people could still be living I wouldn't add the info. I once received 3 updates from the same member and each time | asked her to add the info to the thread explaining why it was best she put it there, but it fell on deaf ears. |

Hi Cathy et al. I send a note out to anyone who hasn't responded to info found for them within c24hrs. I point them to the FAQs section so that they can see how to find and return to their thread. |
