I think you can scrub that ealier posting with the death of William Henry Land - he was born in Tiverton in 1902 |

If that birth is correct then its a bit tight with the Edward Martin one i posted |

It looks like that Edward Land on the 1911 census is the brother of Joseph John Land. |

Sorry - no Julie, I don't think he is one of Brians. Your Edward Martin birth is the only sure thing that has been found - well so far!! |

I am hoping that someone with a subscription to the 1911 census will lokk this family up for us please. We need to know what relationship Edward (1902) is to the head of household. |

Sarah on 1891 - looks good for 'Marsh' being 'Martin' !! - Her father was a Martin (from Ireland) |

Thank you so much Dea. The middle name we were looking for was indeed Martin! |

Brian, only buy your certificates from the GRO - it is free to register and you can order them online for £9.25 using the the year, volume and page numbers (from Freebmd). Let us know if you need help with the reference for Edward's marriage please. |

Well, I have just thought to look at that death registration which Brian gave for Edwin - It does seem to prove that the birth Julie posted was the correct one: |

Yes, I think that is the correct birth Dea. Also there are no other births for Edward Martin Land on FreeBMD. I just think that from the census evidence that perhaps Brian's Dad has got mixed up about who Edward's parents were. It is good though that Brian is going to buy some certificates, that way he will have factual evidence! |
