I have Alexander Murray a soldier who Married Cecilia Law ???
found 3 of their children Elizabeth 1781, Helen 1782, Alexander 1785 child 4 on his birth,but I know he had Marion 1790c and possibly Catherine 1788.
Cecilia died 1807 Linlithgow West Lothian
I 've found a Alexander Murray aged 93 on the 1841 census St Cuthberts, but not on the 51 which is understandable given his age
I would be grateful if you could see if you could find a death for him.

I would appreciate your help in finding details of the birth and possible marriage of David Laughton born c 1875 in St Andrews, Orkney. According to the 1901 census he was living with his mum Catherine in St Andrews, Orkney. Father was also David Laughton. I don't know if David jnr married after 1901. Any help would be great

Hello Emma,

Thank you for your kind offer. I'm looking for the birth (and any siblings?) of

George MORRISON b. c1833 at Renton, Dunbartonshire. His parents were John and Elizabeth according to his death record. (1904).

George emigrated to NSW in the early 1850's and married my great aunt Ann Jones in Maclean in 1863. I have the names of their 11 children.

I have not been able to pinpoint him in the Immigration records as there are a number of George Morrisons in the early 1850's.

Hi Emma,
You do look very busy but I just wondered if you had time to look for the birth for Elizabeth Heany, you found her marriage for me in 1925 and according to that she would be born c 1907 in glasgow.
I am having difficulty finding her parents marriage and so just wanted to check their names, they should be Edward and Beatrice or Bridget McGoldrick,

Had a look for a birth of a Robert Ingram born in Scotland around the year you gave me - although none of them were born in Ayrshire .. You may be able to match up names with children you have or even grandchildren as they tended to have no imagination and just reuse the same names over and over

I am not on ancestry but do have all those names and a birth cert for Isabella 1856 also a birth cert for Robert 1858,
Robert was the last child born in Scotland the rest in Durham.

I've had a look for a birth for Helen and James and can't seem to find one - I don't know if you have ancestry or not - I used to have a membership but cancelled it so I can only see some details but I had a look on there to see if it could give you any indication of a year for them - there are 2 people on Ancestry that have Robert Munro & Bathia Murray - They have that Helen was born in either 1856 or 1857 - Isabella was born in 1857. They also had daughters - Ann born in 1860? - Catherine in 1863? - Willianina in 1868 all in Durham, England - They also have a William 1849 - Scotland and James 1853 Scotland.

I've had a look at the marriages and none of them are even slightly close to Wolfe - I've had a quick look on ancestry and there doesnt seem to be anything on there either.

Sorry I've not been much help but if you get any more information give me a shout if you want anything else looked up.

I've had a look for a death off a Thomas Marshall but because the name is so popular there are lots of them - none around the same sort of area you said he was born tho - I've also had a quick check on ancestry and nobody on there seems to have him either.

Hi Emma,
Thank you for the offer. I'm not familiar with Scotlands People but you will know if this is a wild goose chase or not. I have a Robert Ingram in Co Antrim Ireland B-circa 1816. Any records that may have told me more have been destroyed but I thought he just may have been born in Scotland, perhaps Ayrshire. Following the scottish naming pattern his father would have been John.

If i may take up your kind offer is it possible you may be able to find two births for me.

James Munro abt 1853
Helen Munro abt 1855 (various spellings of christian name)
Their parents were Robert Munro and Bathia Murray
they were married on the 26 may 1853 in Old Machar Aberdeen,
a witness was William Munro.

Two of their children were born in Aberdeen Isabella 1856 and Robert 1858 which i have certificates for.

If you do find the births could i pm you my email please for the certs.
