Jean,
I can't seem to find a marriage for them between 1901 and 1952 - all the marriages for Moores and Muirs are unfortunately just before she died or after she died. - Do you know where abouts in Scotland they got married?
Sorry

Dear Emma, Please could you do a look up for me. I cannot find any details about my great aunt, Janet, who was born in West Ham, London l880/1. She was married to a Henry Langham and then to a William Haines. As I cannot find her in West Ham after 1918 I was wondering if she went to Scotland to live, as both her parents were from Greenock. Her maiden name was Baxter. Many thanks for your help, Kind regards, Liz

Ian,
I've had a look for a Francis Johnstone in the area but there is none with any of the two you gave me.
I also had a look for a marriage for both a John Johnstone and a Margaret Creighton and Helen Young. There is only one marriage in Scotland of a John Johnstone and Helen Young and it is in 1841 which would be too recent for the John you are looking for.
Sorry I couldn't be of much help

Dear Emma,
Please could you find the death of Neil Kelly born c1811 Donegal living in Glasgow (last address 19 Lyon Street, Milton) married to Rose Gaitans born c1819. He would have died after 1861 but before 1893. It would also be nice to know when Rose (poss Rosina) Kelly died too.
many thanks......Linda

Hi Emma, Thanks for your time anyway. It looks like the John you found married to Helen in 1841 could be one of my relations born in 1808, son of Francis and Janet. Thanks again, Ian

Mary,
Unfortunately the dates you have given me are too recent and I can't look them up online - they would have to be looked up in Register House in Edinburgh

Sanda,
I've had a look for a Thomasina Campbell for around that year - I can't actually see the certificate as the birth is too recent but there is a birth of a Thomasina Campbell in Greenock East in 1916
I'm not sure if you have got the marriage of John and Henrietta ..
29 December 1904 The Manse, Ratho Street, Greenock After publication according to the forms of the united free church. John Campbell - Iron Driller (Bachelor) 26 Years 5 Cowgate Street, Greenock Father - William Campbell - Iron Driller Mother - Agnes Campbell m/s Campbell Henrietta Graham - Preserve Worker (Spinster) 20 Years 5 Cowgate Street, Greenock Father - Thomas Graham - Stableman (deceased) Mother - Mary Jane Graham m/s Kirkwood Witnesses - John Humphrey & Ellen Haughie GREENOCK - RENFREW
I've had a look for deaths for a Thomasina Campbell too that would have been born around 1916 and there is 2 showing - again I can't see the images because the deaths are too recent but there is one in Glasgow aged 89 in 2006 and one in Edinburgh aged 86 in 2002.

Hi Emma
If I may take you up on your very kind offer.
I am looking for the baptism of John Tassie. He gives his birth as 1795 in Lanark.
And if I may be cheeky?....For the same man, a marriage. In 1833 he married in England as a widower so I wonder if his previous marriage was in Scotland.
Many thanks in advance for any help you can give. Chris

Molly,
I've checked for a birth of a David Twiname for around that time and with William as a father but nothing seems to show - there is ..
John Twiname 13 January 1838 Father - William Twiname Mother - no name shown on the certificate KIRKPATRICK FLEMING - DUMFRIES
I am thinking this may be a sibling of David?.
There is also 6 children with a father William Twiname in Crossmichael - Kirkcudbright between 1770 and 1838 - Twiname doesn't seem to be a popular name maybe they are relatives? ...
Agnes Colvile Twiname 21 February 1822 Father - William Twiname Mother - Jean Copland CROSSMICHAEL - KIRKCUDBRIGHT
Alexander Twiname 16 August 1827 Father - William Twiname Mother - Jean Copland CROSSMICHAEL - KIRKCUDBRIGHT
Grace Twiname 12 January 1819 Father - William Twiname Mother - Jean Copland CROSSMICHAEL - KIRKCUDBRIGHT
William Twiname 28 February 1815 Father - William Twiname Mother - Jean Copland CROSSMICHAEL - KIRKCUDBRIGHT
Alexander Twiname 9 April 1795 Father - William Twiname Mother - Grace Muir CROSSMICHAEL - KIRKCUDBRIGHT
John Twiname 30 November 1770 Father - William Twiname Mother - Janet Black CROSSMICHAEL - KIRKCUDBRIGHT
Not sure if that is much help.
I also had a look for a birth of a William Twiname around the year you said and there is only one that looks hopeful.
William Twyname (May have been a spelling mistake) 23 May 1790 Father - John Twyname Mother - Margaret Carson CROSSMICHAEL - KIRKCUDBRIGHT
There is also ..
Margaret Twyname 1 January 1795 Father - John Twyname Mother - Margaret Carson CROSSMICHAEL - KIRKCUDBRIGHT
Hope this has been useful
