Hi, Have got GLW born 1792. His son GLW with 1st wife Judith, christened 1824, you just mentioned. Who is the 3rd please. Of these 2, GLW 1792 assuming my William's father, as GLW 1824 too young, therefore GLW 1824 my William brother. Both on latest message.

Next question is where on earth is it?
History Monken Hadley was originally a civil parish of Middlesex forming part of a small protrusion into Hertfordshire. In 1889, under the Local Government Act 1888, the civil parish was transferred to Hertfordshire. Under the Local Government Act 1894 the parish was split with a Hadley parish becoming part of the Barnet Urban District, while the remaining part of the parish became part of the East Barnet Urban District of Hertfordshire. In 1965, under the London Government Act 1963, its area was transferred to Greater London and combined with that of other districts formerly in Hertfordshire and Middlesex to form the present-day London Borough of Barnet.[1]

Please remember I do not have a tree in front of me. You are able to enter what you find into a tree and see it.
That was the first mention of Judith.
Why have you not mentioned you had her before?

The distraction I had yesterday, was a contact via the tree with a Caroline Smith. Decided wrong Caroline as her father Thomas, but she was born in Monken Hadley, same as GLW. Not that big a place, so must be a link somewhere. Wondered if Samuel and Thomas could be brothers, but, my Samuel with Caroline, Matilda and Sophia all linked to Surrey.

So so sorry. Have checked threads and found i made 3. Details on Judith on one titled George Williams begining of May. My only excuse, though poor, is that I am new to this and didnt realise Surname look ups, trying to find look ups etc were all linked. Had wrongly assumed would be kept seperate, which is why I tried all to get some help with my confusion with family. Seem to have just made more confusion for helpers. Now I know wont happen again. Will add anything more to thread I already have.

Ok. We all have to learn and there are very few site instructions.
Would you do me a favour and copy and paste anytuing new Ie not on here and then put a post at the end referring people here.
To do that copy the url address from the top of this thread
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.asp?wci=thread&tk=1221151
and paste it on the bottom of the old threads. That way other helpers will know what is happening.

If the 1851 census is correct then this could be George in the 1861 census.... so it looks as if Sophia has died and George has married Ann

Thanks for doing that. It is very confusing with 2 common surnames and limited first names.
I do not know how you have been organising your data but what I do is in my notes section copy and paste every bit of data about that person in date order.
Helps keep a track of where they were and if it does not add up. I have to go for a little while but if you feel comfortable with giving me access to your tree I will have a look and give you any observations from there.

Hi again Ladykiri, Think I have done everything you asked. have added everything from previous thread to here. Would be very interested in your opinion as to whether I have correct family.
All I am 100% on is that my William Williams c1828, (father George Landgridge Williams,) md 3.3.1847 to Matilda Smith, father Samuel, gentleman. Matildas age on 1851 census 25, but know this can be incorrect.
From my 1st thread I have learnt about both Caroline and Sophia, born Surrey, father Samuel. Names appear as witnesses at each others wedding. Then a Caroline Smith, Surrey md George Landgridge Williams, born 1824. So he could be my William brother. Sophia Smith, Surrey md George Landgridge Williams born 1792, which fits William and George jnr fathers details. The baptisms you sent me of a caroline and Matilda would fit with caroline, but not my Matilda, yet they are at the same church, so are most likely sisters. I had hoped to find them all on the 1841 census, but no luck so far. That would have at least shown them all as a family together, and their ages. I am happy to give you access to my tree, but not sure how to from here. Some of the names we have mentioned are on there twice, as I have added the Smith sisters to my Williams, then the Smith sisters again with their father etc.
