Looks like then Thomas Evans is the Farmer and David Evans my great Grandfather was a labourer working for him. What has happened to Daniel Lewis , Marthas dad. He must have passes away then and sold the farm if hit ever was his in the first place mmmmm puzzling ..... |

thanks Jan for your continued support.I put Marthas details in searsh tree born in Shotleybridge Durham etc and put a search out to other trees as you suggested but it said no match with anyone.I have the marriage certificate of my grandmother Ann evans who is marthas and Davids only child.Says she lived at 21 Park Row when she got married 11.10.1900.got the birth certificate of Marthas husbund David Evans sys he was born 16.7.1848 at Rhowyndu Llanwenog Lampeter whicch is Carmarthenshire near Pembrokshire .His dad was called David also and his mum Margaret.got the marriage certificate of Martha and David Evans 11.2.18183. says they were both 34 years old but doesnt give year of both for either.Says he was a widower and martha was a widow.Says he was a farm labourer and lived at Blaen bAGLAN FARM bRITTON fERRY Neath. His dad was deceased.Marthas dad Daniel Lewis was a Farmer . Martha lived at Davies Row Cwmafan at the time of her marriage.Think Cwmafan was called Michaelstone Lower in those day..Thats all the info i have Jan. Thankyou again for your time. Hazel. |

Thankyou Jan. I live in the village of Cwmafan myself then Cwmafan was the town ,now the town is Port talbot. Neath is about 8 miles from us and thats where the registry office is. Pembroke is about 60 miles away and i thought up until now David Evans Marthas second husbund came from Pembrokeshire , but he gives his birth place as Cwmafan, Lanchester is about 2oo miles or more from us i imagine . We are in South Wales right down the centre bottom 3 miles from coast, Thankyou Jan once again Hazel. |

yes i was wondering about that. Sometimes it was just copied from the entry name above it as it wasn't filled in by themselves until 1911 census . I will look back at the images to see if i can work anything out!! As i said not being good at Welsh places i will look at a map and see how far apart places are from each other. |

sorry to be a nag Jan.I know you must be very busy. Its just that with Martha Mathias there are three or four different places where she was born? Durham England, Punchston Pembroke, Neath and Cwmafan . Why would she put 4 different birth places have you any idea. Hazel Smith |
