I can't see him in 1891..could you enlighten me? I think I'm probably missing what's right in front of me.

It was Peter who is in the 1891 census with the rest of the family under Middlesborough with his date of birth 1855

Sorry, I still can't see him. Was there a spelling mistake at all?

Posting this for info....as Peter was widowed the younger children may be his. It seems unlikely that Margaret would have children with an age difference of 34 years.

If you look in the Genes Reunited census for 1891 in the middlesborough district it comes up with Peter Reynolds occupation as way labourer

I've just checked the 1891 on Ancestry, it does def say Reynolds on the image (plus he's a way labourer - dock), it must just have been that the person transcribing it couldn't make it out..but it's been corrected on Genes. I think it's the same person.

To go back to your original question; I think maybe they got married in Ireland? Either that or their married isn't on freebmd yet, as it's not complete.

Also - Peter might have been born in Ireland himself..or you could try that birth record that was posted earlier and get the birth cert and see if it's him.

And, I think maybe the younger children are Peter's..I'm looking for a marriage for him now.

Birth cert will give father and mother..so you can clear up who their parents are and if they are his, it'll help you find his marriage.

I will need to look into this, it didn't dawn on me that these might be Peter's children, even though I saw that he was a widower

It's a shame there's not an obvious marriage there. Also - there could be a chance Peter was in fact born in Ireland...I don't always trust them when a family's moved. I've spent ages looking in the new places before only to look at the old place just to check...and they were born there.

I just had a thought, out of interest, how did you know Peter's father was called Owen? Do you have them all on a census together?
