Is it just me or is anyone else having problems with getting the 1920 census to work? |

Walter Foster Oddy is a farm hand and has a nearest relative, Edna Marie Oddy, so it looks to be the same one on the census. |

Hmmm - just tried putting Walter Foster Oddy into Ancestry search and got only one (locked) match - for the record you mention. Could it be a mistranscription? I can't think of any reason why "my" Walter would have Foster as a middle name, and all other records have shown him as Harry. |

Hello Maureen! Haven't bumped into you on here for a while - not since you discovered my criminal ancestors for me! |

Thanks for that, Choccy. Could I be cheeky and ask if you could check on the aforementioned Walter Harry Oddy and Newham Oddy to see when they went? |

Laura Annie Oddy (b 1886 Staincliffe, Dewsbury, Yorkshire) was still in Pudsey, Yorkshire at the time of the 1901 census, but married in Illinois in 1910. Could someone with access to passenger lists possibly look her up and let me know when and where she left and - if possible - whether she was travelling alone? I have also "lost" her brother Walter Harry Oddy (b 1897 Holborn, London) so am interested to know if he also went to the States. I know that their brother Newham (b 1888, also in Staincliffe) also emigrated. |
