Memory sticks are allowed......thats good to know. I've found a lot through Scotland's People but it obviously works out cheaper to visit Edinburgh even with my OH's "shopping allowance" and it will allow me to tie up the more modern loose ends.
Thanks again and good luck.

Hey Frank
Its all on computer and has been for the last four/five years, ever since they completed the digitalisation and put everything up on SP. The only things you ever have to look through are the MI booklets and the Maps (if you need them). I'm glad really, as microfilms, after a while, make me feel sick :s
You can print out anything you could normally acess on SP (or save them to a memory stick to view later at home) each costs 50p per cert/print out/image. You still have to transcribe all the "recent stuff", but do get to see the actual cert on screen.
I get totally caught up in everything, that I have to remind myself to take a break now and again, but it is great fun :D

My pleasure Mhairi,
I'm thinking of making a day in Edinburgh myself one of these days although I'll have to give my OH shopping money so that she doesn't get bored !
Is it all on computer these days in the new centre or do you have to trawl through microfiche etc. I know you have to take notes rather than copies of some of the records but it sounds like a fun sort of day :))

Jan (Gavin)
Do you have any possible names? or even rough years of birth?
When/Where did the parents die? As one of the kids might be an informant and this might lead me to them.

Hi Jean
Thanks for that. Hopefully they have stayed in the same area (at least for their marriages).
Frank
I did sit here for a couple of minutes going "Firhill, Firhill. Where do I know this name from." Till it clicked.
I see Jan (Gavin) has managed to get intouch, but thanks for pointing that out - and for all the other little pieces of help :D
Thanks also to Foggy for finding that birth for Carole :)
Lesley - PM away!

Hi Jean
You couldnt possibly narrow it down any more could you? Do you know when/where their parents died? The girls might have been the informants and that might give me married names (if married) and narrow down their possible death years.
Also, silly question, but is that Firhill, Glasgow? Or someplace else? My geography is terrible.
Regards Mhairi

Hello, Mhairi, thank you for your very kind offer, I am looking for deaths / marriages for these 2 sisters please.
Margaret Moore b. 9.2.1903 @ 12 b, Sandyford Street, Anderston.
Annie Moore b. 13.3. 1905 same address . They had a brother Daniel who died in 1917 , address was 139, Firhill Road , So I am presuming if the girls were still alive they would be at the same address . Their parents are James and Elizabeth Nee McNeill also Fisher. There are no middle names for the girls . Any information would be great, Thank you jean
