The family on the 1871 with Louise were living in Church Preen and she was born Cardington. Maybe they will be able to help you at the records office or library. |

You never know they might come up with something in the library. If you try when its not too busy they will be able to help you more. |

Thank you, but she was buried in a unpurchased grave, I found her grave over 20 years ago, no one in the family knew where she was buried, and I managed to find it (2 graves away from her daughter who died in 1936 (having her 13th baby), also in an unpurchased grave) my mother always told me that 'Granny Shotton' did not approve of her daughter having such a large family, she having only 2 children of her own and did not visit the family very often even though they only lived about 2 miles away from each other. I have attended her grave ever since my parents died, there is no headstone. |

This is another possibility - it does fit in with the Atcham connection. Not much use though I must say. |

It means finding a baptism record. Do you live in the area? |

What do I do if she was not registered? |
|||
|
ChristineinPortugal | Report | 1 Apr 2010 08:40 |
She doesn't appear to have been registered, can't find her on Free BMD and as I said earlier it wasn't compulsory until 1875. |

Just popping back to see what's happening - what a lot of responses! However, all this must be really frustrating for you Sandra. |

I use 'find my past' to look up births/census/marriages/deaths etc. and I cannot find a Louise Benett - I will try again and if possible (grand -daughter permitting) I will order birth certificate today. |

I think this is the family in 1881 and William should have been 6mths in 1871 although the parents ages don't add up with 1871. |

I have tried everything and cannot find another Lucy (Louisa) Bennett born around 1867 who has a father called John only the one I had originally. |
