I cannot find her on FMP but I can find Gertrude Shotton age 12 living at 110 Belle Vue Rd.she was the other witness.
FMP will not accept the name McGliston

Hi Sandra.
It was worth a try.
have you seen Annie McGliston in 1891 living Belle Vue Rd Bayston Hill with her parents named Habberley. Could she be Frederick´s wife?
Can´t find him, but it´s a wonderful name for mis transcribing.

Hello Marion
I have looked at this family in detail, Louisa got married in 1899 - not to William Shotton. I have put another thread on looking for Fred McGliston who was a witness at Lucy & Williams marriage I cannot find him anywhere, I thought maybe he would be a friend who lived nearby or even a brother in law - but as usual - no luck.

Hi Sandra.
You may like to have a look at this one in Bridgenorth. Her name is consistently spelled Lousia (cound be shortened to Lousy & misheard as Lucy) It´s even Lousia on her baptism record on Familysearch.
Born 1868, Tasley, Shropshire. Sister Jane b 1866, Tasley. Father John, mother Mary.
1881 living 33 North Gate, Bridgenorth. John 66, farm labourer,Mary 57,Sarah 23,William 18, John 17,Jane 15, Lousia 13.
1891 3 Cliff Road, Bridgenorth. John only 66 & Mary 61,all the girls at home, plus Thomas Bennett , grandson aged 2. No idea who he belongs to.
Hopefully this could be the one. Good luck. Marion

No luck but just to let you know, I serched William Shotton in 1891 and his parents in 1881 and looked through each page of that area, just in case Lucy/ Louise or possible parents were in the same place, no joy :(

MarionfromScotland Report 5 Apr 2010 19:04

Thats a pity.

So all you have is...
Father John Bennett
Husband William Shotton
Mother unsure?

Sandra do you know the name of any of Lucy/Lousia siblings?

* i will be back later, getting shoved off here lol*

No Sandra you haven't upset anyone but being on another board really won't help ...those who are looking on there need to see what has been done here or they will (as Julie had) be searching and come up with all the same details, which won't really help you :)

Nudging just means bringing the thread up to the top for others to see.

Rambling

Rambling Report 5 Apr 2010 17:06

to be truthful no Marion :( there are only a finite number of Lucy/Louisa's and several with John as the father, ...the only way I can see is to get as many of the possible birth certs and see if they eliminate some of those on census...?

Sandra

Sandra Report 5 Apr 2010 17:05

Rambling Rose - what does nudging mean?
I'm sorry if I upset anyone by trying again - now I know that the 'other' Lucy was not mine - I did explain that I had another thread on GR

Nudging this because helpers are wasting their time looking over 'old ground' ...

I saw that and we did have family in that area, The Fox Inn is about 10 miles from Cressage.

I have just tried a free search on FMP for Bayston Hill in 1891 and this is what comes up.
I put Bayston Hill in street name.

If you check the 1881 census found for Lucy born Cressage she was a servant at the Fox Inn., is this just a coincidence or is it the same place?
