Not surprised to see more information. Thanks a lot - now I've got a start to see if Emily had children. |

My - you're good. What would we do without you. Tried several variations on Ponsford but obviously didn't try the one you found. |

So we know this is the correct family due to the Briaris; |

2 Henry Ponsfords both born 1819 in Devon? How inconsiderate of them. Think I'll have to have another search of 1871 census. to see if I can find Emily and Alice elsewhere. |

Now I'm getting confused! Where did Henry Thomas Ponsford come from - and how come Arthur is being baptised in 1866 when his mother died 1854. Think I'll have to write it down, study it, and leave this thread until I've got my head sorted. Might take me some time, lol. |

Just out of interest I'll say I didn't know of Mary Ann Briaris' existence until I did a general search on Briaris deaths and rather a surprise to find one in Brighton! Then found following 1881 census and knew Elizabeth had married a Ponsford. Went on from there! We do have a bit of luck occasionally thank goodness. |

Thanks due again to Margaret and BatMansDaughter again. Details of the marriage as well. Wonderful |

Thanks BatMansDaughter for what you've found. That's the 1861 sorted for me. A great help. That's a really interesting transcription of the surname Briaris! I hadn't seen that one before. (My mother's maiden name). No wonder we have such problems tracking people down. |
