Hi there, need some help please.

Want to check some info in a letter which says this ex wife (found the divorce records, have to go see them at National Archives at Kew) went after her ex husband (25 yrs after the divorce) in High Court to get maintenance even tho their kids were grown up, and even tho her ex mother in law had set her up in a business and she had a good income. According to this letter she got some kind of attachment to his earnings so he just left the country (they were both in sixties) i think it must be myth but where can I check ? Already tried National Archives. thanks
