That is a direct hit, Viv. Thank you again. I know it's spot on because I have the newspaper cutting from when Dad's dad died in 1957. It names Harry and Annie as his sorrowing siblings!! Where were you when I started researching Dad's story three years ago!!!?????? |

Yes, William Henry Usher was a batchelor of 44 years of age and Mary Jane was a spinster of 45 years of age. registered at separate addresses 24th December 1936. |

I don't know where dad was from his birth in 1922 to 1936. Although in his later years he signed a statutory declaration document where he states... "the persons whom I understood to be my parents were known to me as William Henry Usher and Mary Jane Usher. The said William Henry Usher and Mary Jane Usher raised me as a child and I knew no other persons as my parents". |
