If you obtain her marriage cert, you'll learn at least her full names, and, as I said before, her father's details (hopefully). |

Thank you for looking.. I wasn't sure if I had just missed the record. I had looked on ancestry and freebmd. She appears on my grandfather's birth certificate as Freda E Burgess. Years ago when my father spoke to some of her children, they referred to her as Freda. Nobody has ever mentioned that she was born abroad but I suppose it is possible. |

This is the probable marriage of the couple posted some time ago from 1911 census...so you can discount that, as indicated by Ann. |

Freda was not really a Victorian name............have you considered that her birth might be registered as Winifred? |

'ms' is Scottish.........in England/Wales the abbreviation is MN.........and before you ask, it means maiden name. |

Attempting to make progress tracing family tree after a break. I can't seem to find a birth registration for Freda Emily Burgess born around 1891. Can anyone shed any light? |

This is possibly the Arthur Jackson whose death I found in 1911 census but I don't have a subscription to see his occupation and household. |

There is this death which could be Arthur but it's after her marriage. |

We have often wondered about that.. On the birth certificate it lists her as Freda Jackson, formerly Burgess.. |

Do you have her marriage cert to Francis Absom? |

Ann, That sounds quite promising.. I know it's impossible to be certain but the Arthur Jackson you found was a drayman and on my grandfather's birth certificate it lists Arthur as being a rullyman.. i think these two jobs are very similiar. |

Yep that is him.. Ralph William Jackson.. Sculcoates.. Before he died some of his half brothers and sisters got in touch with him.. We knew that Freda married again but haven't been able to find any information about Arthur.. At one point we didn't even think that Arthur and Freda had married. |
