Anthony Report 12 Mar 2010 23:05

I am trying to trace my birth mother Margaret Mary Murphy who gave birth to me at Loveday St Maternity Hospital on 10/01/1955. She named me Brendan Joseph.

She stayed at Woodville Mother and Baby Home in the latter part of her pregnancy. She was born 03/12/1924 (Aged 29 when she gave birth to me) and is from Ireland. She had been living in the Worcester area for three years and was working at Powick Hospital before to moving to Birmingham and then worked as a nurse at Birmingham City Hospital. It is believed that it was when she was in Worcester she had fallen pregnant with me by a man called Eric H Simmons (aged 35 at time).

Her father, Dennis Murphy was back home in Limerick at the time and was not aware of the pregnancy.

With the help of Father Hudsons, she had me adopted three months after I was born. Her reasoning, was that she had no home to offer me.

Two years later, she asked for Father Hudsons help again, as she had fallen pregnant by a different man. She gave birth to Veronica Maria Murphy on 14/10/1957 who was also adopted.

I have had all this information divulged to me recently by Father Hudsons and I really want to trace my relatives. I am hoping that Margaret is still alive and I would also like to find my half sister.

If any of the above information is relevant, please get in touch.

Thank you.
