Many thanks to those who replied to my last cry for help particularly Dee who found this family mistranscribed as Ray on the 1881 census. I am now having difficulty finding them on the 1891 as Kay or Ray. Details are John Kay 47 stonemason b. Ripon; Mary Kay 42 fishmonger b. Scarborough; Ada Kay 14 b. Manchester. Children John & Ellen shown on the 1881 are with relatives in Scarborough in 1891. Address in 1881 was 83 Upper Moss Lane (wrongly transcribed as Boss Lane) Hulme Manchester.
