Find Ancestors

I run the Inskip One-Name Study (http://www.one-name.org/profiles/inskip.html) as part of the Guild of One Name Studies. Currently, I am running an Inskip DNA study, on a voluntary basis, with the University of Leicester, as part of their 'Roots of the British Project'. The aim of the study is to look even further at the Inskip family tree and see how we are all related and what our genetic origins might be (see http://inskip.wordpress.com/2009/11/05/roots-of-the-british-inskip-dna-study/).

Everyone who takes part will also get a personal report about their genetic family roots; this will be confidential. The study is free for all volunteers, unlike commercial studies.

I am looking for people who might be interested in taking part in the project. They have to be male, and with a father whose name was Inskip, as it is the Y chromosome DNA that is carried unaltered from father to son. If you are an Inskip or have any Inskip men in your family who would be interested in taking part, do let me know and I can give you further details. The process itself is very, very easy.

We have a number of volunteers already but particularly need Inskips from the Yorkshire/Northumberland/Durham region - a much rarer group.
