Hi, Cherilyn, I'm looking for a cousin by the name of Sheila Bell last heard of as being in Australia - not sure where. Possible other names used Sheila Bartlett or Sheila Wunder. I had an email from this contact once before and now cannot reach her. Please help if you can. |

Thanks Cherilyn..it is a mess isnt it!..In the back of my mind I seem to remember a letter mum was sent..something about Paul Albert Frank, changing his name by deed poll.I cant find him in the births under Lohmann, only Frank. Will order the marraige to Franks in 1874 and the last birth which is Norah in 1904.It should list all siblings(fingers crossed). Then I will try and get in touch with my cousin and see if she is aware of anyone in the family with a marraige cert for Mary Ann and Wilhelm. If not then I will have to send for that..I will definately let you know what I find and a big thank you once again..you are very kind..xx |

Omg angela, what a mess!!! I think there is nothing for it but to order the 2 marriage certs...or her death cert, though that will rely on the knowledge of the informant. |

Oh Cherilyn...thank you so much for the extra bits you have found...can you see what I mean about the name changes though? Was this common..I mean to go from Hogar Frank to William and then have the extra Frederick added on...misspellings I understand... |

Hello again cherilyn. Well I did as you suggested and Kerri very kindly found me margaret leonards death details, so having just downloaded the cert from vicbmd I'm more confused than ever!!!!!! It definitely says she was born in Willunga in 1858, died 1938 in Vic, and was married aged 18 in Chiltern Vic. I make that about 1876, francis born 1877, all right and proper, BUT the marriage is not coming up on vicbmd. It's beginning to look very much like they never married, unless I'm missing something? Can I get your views on this? Thanks again, linda :) |

Hi cherilyn, thanks for that, as you say if it's there!! Have just realised that margaret was probably underage if born in 1858 and had her first child in 1877. Fingers crossed and thanks again for your help, regards Linda :) |

Thanks for looking Cherilyn, didn't think I could have missed it! Well, that is so odd. Nicholas was too young to have married in the Uk and margaret was born in Vic, perhaps they never actually married?!! Thanks again, linda :) |

Hi cherilyn, this one has got me puzzled!! Nicholas Leonard was born in c 1844 in rush dublin, he came first to nz then victoria, then nsw where he stayed until his death in 1916. He married a margaret hughes, and they had several children. But I can't find the marriage!!! I'm pretty sure it was in either nsw or vic and not nz, and I'm really hoping it was nsw where the records are so much better and it may give us his mothers name. I know his father was a michael leonard from his death cert, but the death was registered by one of his sons, who gives his grandmother as unknown???? All the children appear to have been born in nsw in the 1880's. Thanking you in advance for anything you may find. Regards Linda :) |

Haha!! Methinks she has added the name ada to her boring old one name of kate, as you say, all the others had 2 or more!! I did ask if they had any birth details but no reply as yet, so my hubby has some more cousins to contend with!! Thanks so much for looking, regards Linda :) |
