yep def 1882 stanley died 1971 i know this a hard one to trace his wife my g/mother wos rose johnson born i woolwich 1900 died portsmouth 1973 i cant fin there marrage record but wos told it wos 1917 would it be under military marrages cos stanley woa in the army 14-18 war

The above census with Lydia can't be the correct family as in that family it is the father who dies and the mother remarries.

You really need to start with your Grandfather's marriage certificate an then his birth certificate - especially if you don't recognise the "Skinner" middle name. There were another couple of births for Stanleys but the year of birth differed. Are you certain that he was born in 1882?
