I'm trying to see if there are some relatives I've missed or some descendants. My father's mother's mother's maiden name was Evelina Moyses, b 1881 in Cornwall. Evelina was the daughter of Richard Moyses, b 1851, who married Mary (lastname?). Their second child, Evalina Moyses married George Barker, b. 1880(?), and they are my greatgrandparents. They had one child, May Esther (b. 1897?). Evelina was one of at least 6 children all of whom would have been Moyses (Richard, Eveline, Thomas, Beatrice, Ada, Levi, .in age order with Richard the eldest). Since no one ever mentioned Levi to me, I assumed he died young. This Moyses family pretty much lived/worked in Cornwall as best I can tell in the Newquay area. Richard Senior was a Merchant Seaman on the Janie Morcum ship during the 1870s-80s(?) , and Richard Moyses Junior worked for the railway system. One of these Moyses boys (Thomas?) went to Canada to work ( mining or tree-cutting?) and died there. |
