Hello Maureen..I really spent a long time looking at your Woodings..and as you know, they are not easy.........then when I looked at your tree i found that you already have virtually everything I've got..and more..on your massive tree......
There are a couple of things you might not have..tiny little things.

Your tree says ELIZABETH BALL..should be BULL

exact date of marriage of THOMAS WOODINGS to FANNY FIRKINS is 17.08.1873

According to BMD's EMMA Woodings married either William Fletcher or Henry Bottoms 1880 at Derby..though there appear to be neither combination on the 1881 or 1891 Census.

No sign of any marriage for Jonathan/William or Edwin.

HARRIOTT WOODINGS married either Mark Philips or William payne in 1866..but again there is no knowing which..as with Emma...the two males simply appear on the same page....

Coming to the children of Henry John and Martha:-

Sarah E Wooding baptism date is 29.04.1870..married Herbert jackson 1892

HERBERT WOODINGS 1880..married Mabel Caroline Stabton 1908..and in December of the same year their first child was baptised 09.12.1908 Herbert William Woodings.

AMOS WOODINGS1884-1973 married jane jACKSON 1909 which you already know..what you may not know is that in 1911 the couple are living with Jane's parent and they have one small child.

Martha Jane Woodings married William hall 1897 at Shardlow.

I don't have any Deaths..they are always the hardest part of any research outside Parish registers.

All the best

Derek.

Jeanette Report 31 Oct 2011 22:06

oh thank you Derek, any info you have on Hannah Maria White (my gg gran) (I have a lovely photo of her on my tree) joseph Green (got a lovely pic of him too lol) sarah Coupe (nope dont have a pic of her lol) in fact anything at all that you have would be absolutely fantastic.I have tried to jog my granny's memory but sadly she doesnt remember much about her fathers (joseph green) family and she is the last living child of his ( at the grand age of 102)
again Derek thank you so much
best wishes
jeanette

p.s
If you don't mind my asking are you a 'member' of the Marper family?

Derek

Derek Report 31 Oct 2011 20:37

Hello Jeanette....what a great tree you have put together.!! I spent a long time checking things I'd found..baptism dates and marriage dates and things i might surprise you with..but NO!!..you seem to have it all..and to be honest there is not much else I can tell you.

Nobody seems to know the birth or the marriage of George's father Joseph..or his marriage to Elizabeth........and i suspect that might be something to do with the recurrent them in your family of Wesleyanism........and Non-conformist records......

I might crack it next time I go to Matlock record office..and look fo Non-conformist records that i don't already have.......Joseph may have married in Nottingham which is where Elizabeth came from...

I have been been involved in Joseph Green's family before.and also that of Hannah maria White..your Herbert's wife.......so there is quite a bit there that I could add to your tree if you want t go that route....and one of my big jobs was the family of SARAH COUPE who married Joseph's father John Green in 1830.....

I have taken the Marpers into and as far as the 1911..and you will probably know that some of them ended up in Doncaster.and rawmarsh and Sheffield.

Well.although i have not been able to give you much on this occasion..at least you now know where I am..and as you will see from my thread, I'm not too bad at this lark.........so feel free to come back as and when you like.

All the best.

Derek.

Hello Marian............ok.....first thing is try not to write in capital letter.....second thing..relax......being "a relative newcomer" is no bad thing..that's why I..and many others are here to help.....
From your message i gather that it is the BAILEY family that is central to your research..and i notice Eckington is in there somewhere...which is of course in Derbyshire.
What I need from you is a starting point........a name..an approximate date and a place..........and i have the resources and the time to go forward....but I do need some sort of clue as to where to begin..

Just write down anything you know..or believe, with a birth or a marraige together with date and place..doesn't have to be accurate.....it's my job to make it accurate.

Hello Karen..very interesting brcause I have been researching various brnches of Derbyshire ORMES for quite some time........post 1911 is really outside of my area of expertise.......but because you mentions Joseph and Elizabeth as parents it brings it back pre 1901..and therefore into my range..........

First, I would ask if you have a) access to Ancestry.co.uk...and b) if you either are..or have knowledge of' Vannessa Orme....who has Bernard C Carlile as a Grandfather.........

I ask this so as to be sure i am not duplicating what you already know.......

I can tell you that the three children of BERNARD C ORME and EDITH IRENE ORME nee FOSSE....were:_
Doris Lilian Orme 1938-2008..born hackney London.died South Wales
MAURICE c 1935-2011 Died in Colchester
Derek Leonard Orme 18.03.1937 died october 1986 in Surrey

Bernard died in Aldershot1977.and Edith sadly died in !938 in Surrey aged 25............there is a lot of stuff in and around this family..depending on what you already know......
