Thanks Derek
I know how difficult earlier records can be-just thought it was worth asking! Still hoping against hope to find something out about them

Hi Derek
I see you have been researching the Neal family. If you come across a Frances Neal who married Joseph Stanley in Dalbury Lees in 1701 (yep, I'm STILL trying to find them prior to their marriage!) I would be eternally grateful!

Hi Derek,
OK Thanks anyway. Don't think Esther Blackwell was born in Derbyshire was just wondering if there was any of the Dalby's as whiteness's and if William was a widow as it's the Dalby's I'm interested in. William was born in Bradmore Nottinghamshire but he died before 1841 and since posting you I have found Esther with Wiliam's mother on the 1841 census in Bradmore and then back in Derbyshire on 1851 with his sister Elizabeth. I'm aiming to go to Matlock myself sometime next year.
Thank you
Wendy

Hi Susan..I am still charting as a Family tree all the Neals that I have been able to confirm, and it gets very complicated.........but for the moment I can tell you that your findings are OK down to WILLIAM NEAL 19.07.1778..and I am happy that he married ANN WALL 26.09.1803............but at the moment I cannot confirm a link with JOHN allegedly of Tutbury..........I have all of HIS History but not his Birth.........we'll see what we shall see..............For now I can confirm that:-
LAWRENCE NEAL 08.03.1752 son of John and Elizabeth..married ANN FLETCHER 22.05.1774 at Sutton on the Hill......and that he was the YOUNGER BROTHER of JOSEPH NEAL 14.07.1743.who married MARTHA HELLABY 24.05.1768........and therefore was the UNCLE of Thomas Neal (husband of Grace Middleton and father of ELIZABETH BRIDGES nee NEAL
The family Tree....confirmed absolutely with baptism dates and marriage dates..with siblings etc might be confusing..but here is the skeleton:_
Guilliemi (WILLIAM) Neal 1560 Etwall married Margery Skelett at Etwall 19.02.1584
Johannes (JOHN) Neal youngest of five children 22.07.1599 married Margery Fearne at longford 25.06.1628
LAWRENCE NEAL youngest of four children of John and Margery was baptised 18.02.1642..married Jane Anne Potts in 1670 and had two children the elder of which was..
CONSTANTINE NEAL 18.04 1672 who married Ann Stillington 02.02.1698 They had SIX children including:
JOHN NEAL 05.02.1705 who married Elizabeth Smith at Shirley 24.12.1731..they had SEVEN children including Lawrence 08.03.1752..and........
JOSEPH NEAL 14.07.1743 who married MARTHA HELLABY at Longford 24.05.1768..they had five children..the youngest of whom was:
THOMAS NEAL baptised at Sutton 19.05.1783..May have been born 1781.who married GRACE MIDDLETON 03.10.1800.and had at least five children including:
ELIZABETH NEAL 01.04.1821.......later to be Mrs John Bridges!!
Pick the bones out of that!!...........I'm sending you a PM.
Derek.

Hello Wendy..no i don't have the Chesterfield records..I don't think yhey have actually been transcribed for public consumption..........I'd have to go to Matlock to find the original entry......I CAN however confirm the Marriage and the date..but in 1808 you might be lucky to get details of witnesses.......but I'll certainly look for you. I think I know what you're after..but I cannot find her birth in Derbyshire!! Derek.

Hi Susan..I was just about to send you a message about the Neals..then take myself off to bed!!!..but your new message has scuppered the bed bit..at least for a while....
For now let me tell you that i have now found a direct line for ELIZABETH NEAL back to William (Guil;emnius) Neal 1560 Etwall..with full dates of baptisms etc......one or two Ancestry trees are quite good, but not good enough when I'm around!!..My information is Parish records!..but you'll have to wait for tomorrow, while i look at this other stuff you've lumbered me with!!

Hi Derek….
Hope you are well and haven’t driven yourself crazy with the NEALS Now before you start on this pour yourself a very large glass of your favourite………just to steady your nerves…….
At last I have found a few moments to get back to you with my other line of NEALS (origins Longford ?) Some have been confirmed and some are supposition, working backwards the following is fact………
HERBERT NEAL (1867 Dalbury Lees) married Rose Hannah Sowter and was the son of WILLIAM NEAL (1831 Dalbury Lees) and Ann Colbourne. He was the son of JOHN NEAL (1808 maybe Tutbury? ) and Elizabeth Spendlove
Now this may not be correct as its been picked up from unconfirmed sources……… JOHN NEAL (1808) possibly the son of WILLIAM NEAL (1778 Marston on Dove) and ANN WALL ?.....William 1778 possibly the son of LAURENCE NEAL (1752 Longford) and ANN FLETCHER ?..........Laurence possibly son of JOHN NEAL (1705 Alkmonton Longford) and ELIZABETH SMITH ? John 1705 possibly the son of CONSTANTINE NEAL (1672 Longford) and mother unknown. Constantine maybe the son of LAURENCE NEAL (1642 Longford) and mother unknown. Laurence 1642 possibly son of JOHN NEAL (1599 ETWALL) and MARGERY FEARNE ? of Longford
Would really appreciate you confirming if any of the above is correct if you could.:-D
it’s not really important but I'm curious to see if there is a family link between my ELIZABETH NEAL and her father THOMAS NEAL's ancestors. If you come across any of them while trawling through the Longford records could you let me know………as I say - not crucial just curious...
Am looking forward to your findings.
As always your help is much appreciated
Susan :-)

Hi Derek,
Getting a little confused with these Burrows. I've done a search for the baptisms using surname only for the child and entering Elijah and Sarah for parents and the years 1825-1845
Pharoch Burrows England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975 birth: 19 May 1838 christening: 15 April 1842 Ilkeston, Derby, England residence: 1838 Ilkeston, Derbyshire, England father: Elijah Burrows mother: Sarah
Elijah Burrows England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975 birth: 28 September 1832 christening: 15 April 1842 Ilkeston, Derby, England residence: 1832 Ilkeston, Derbyshire, England father: Elijah Burrows mother: Sarah
Amos Burrows England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975 birth: 2 February 1840 christening: 15 April 1842 Ilkeston, Derby, England residence: 1840 Ilkeston, Derbyshire, England father: Elijah Burrows mother: Sarah
Moses Burrows England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975 birth: 30 May 1834 christening: 15 April 1842 Ilkeston, Derby, England residence: 1834 Ilkeston, Derbyshire, England father: Elijah Burrows mother: Sarah
Robert Burrows England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975 birth: 25 March 1836 christening: 15 April 1842 Ilkeston, Derby, England residence: 1836 Ilkeston, Derbyshire, England father: Elijah Burrows mother: Sarah
Moses Burrows England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975 birth: 30 May 1834 christening: 21 September 1834 SHIPLEY WOOD AND BEAVERLEY AND SLADE CHAPEL-PRIMITILKESTONODIST,ILKESTON,DERBY,ENGLAND father: Elijah Burrows mother: Sarah Lacy
The 5 children whose parents are Elijah and Sarah are all baptised on the same day 15th April 1842 at Ilkeston. One Elijah showing born in 1832.
There are two records for Moses Burrows. Both give date of birth as 30th May 1834. One record shows he was baptised on the same day as the other children of Elijah and Sarah when he was almost 8 years old. The second record shows parents as Elijah and Sarah Lacy and he would be 4 months old.
I am what you would call very confused.com
Hope you can explain.
Regards
Chris

Chrissie...but there were definitley TWO Elijah Burrows.........one born 1826 and one born 1834..............unless...........the one born 1826 was not baptised until 1834............which would solve our little problem..because the 1881 entry is definitely of an Elijah BORN 1826.........and yes..his dad DID die in 1886

Hi Derek,
Thanks for the info. The 'two' Elijah's are confusing as I have searched the 1841 and 1851 census using just Elijah Burrows (no year or place of birth).
1841 shows only Elijah and his son (sons year of birth given as 1833) no other Elijah Burrows showing. 1851 sons year of birth given as 1833 1861 cannot find either of them 1871 sons year of birth given as 1832 1881 sons year of birth given as 1826 1891 can't find the son, looks like his dad died 1886
Regards
Chris
