Hello Derek

Please can you help me. My Gt Aunt Eliza Bacon b1855 Church Greasley Derbyshire married Thomas Twiggs b 1855 Ullesthorpe Leicestershire. They married 1899 Mansfield area. Both worked at Hardwick Hall and they had 13 children.

I understand they both died 1942 and are buried IN A UNMARKED GRAVE at ST JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH AULT HUCKNELL DERBYSHIRE by the steps of the belfry tower.

My burning question is "WHY" are they in a unmarked grave considering they had 13 children to take care of them.

Is there any record of burials like this for this church?

There are too many variables in finding the correct William Dalby.what would solve the problem would be the Marriage Certificate of William Dalby to Florence Rutland........I can get it for you if you like.......

Derek.

So sorry Derek..........brain seems to be working at a snails pace lately.

Didn't make it clear for you..........Florry was living in Leicester in 1947 when her sister in law visited her. It was her sister in law who passed in 1947 not Florry. Sorry for the confusion but many thanks for the marriage details. I feel sure it must be my Florry...........have found a potential death for a Florry Dalby aged 81 in 1974 in Leicester..

Are there any details of William Dalbys age or origins?

Many Thanks for your help

Susan :-D

Hi Derek............firstly thank you for your condolences.

I am aware that Florry (Florence) was living in Leicestershire in 1947.......my great grandmother was visiting when she was suddenly taken ill and passed away...... but I have no idea who Florry married and where. It is possible the marriage you found could be the elusive Florry.

I do have quite a lot on the Rutlands prior to 1911 as you have been kind enough to help me in the past...........Am just trying to tie up a few loose ends as sadly I have almost reached the end of the line with my elderly rellies.

Many Thanks for looking for me.....

Susan :-)

Hello Susan..so sorry about your bereavement............have had a good look around, and nowhere can I find a Marriage..or a Death for Florence..nor is she on any outgoing Passenger Lists........a mystery..but not uncommon..she may have been somewhere or in some job, that prevented her from being around on Census Night 1911.
There is a marriage for Florence Rutland in Leicestershire in 1913,,if that ringsany bells let me know...........I do of course have a lot of stuff on the family pre'1911. just in case you don't already have it.

Hi Derek.........
Hope all is well and you are enjoying this spell of good weather.

Haven't been on the boards for some time as sadly had a close family bereavement and have been really busy.

Anyhow.........am trying to get back into my research. Would appreciate it if you could look for a marriage for FLORRY (FLORENCE) RUTLAND born about 1893 Burton or Long Lane, daughter of William and Mary. She was at Longford in 1901 with her family. Cant find her on 1911 census so possibly married.

Whenever you have time.
Many Thanks
Susan :-)

Thanks Derek, I did wonder if they were Gypsies as I found them plying the trades of Hawker and Pedlar. One from Repton !! lets hope they don't marry into the you know whos ;-). That would tie OH's family in with mine :-D :-D :-D :-D

Derek

Derek Report 25 Jun 2014 22:40

-Hi Gooner...this has surely GOT to be SUSANNAH Boswell 1855.....grand-daughter of the widow Rhoda Boswell of Norfolk.....Dillinda is there aged 25..but no indication that she is the mother...they appear to be gypsies, from all over the place........1861 has them from Norfolk Lincs.Sfaffs Derbys...........one even from Repton.......
I'll have a look around, but this is likely to be very difficult!
