Hi Derek
The WATSONs - As far as I can tell the oldest son Horace was born in 1911 and they had another 6 surviving children between then and 1927, all but the last one being registered in Belper. The children were Horace, Margaret (middle nameLililan, known as Lil), Sarah (known as Sally), Betty, Laura (known as Ann) and Tommy.
I know Rebecca died in Nottingham around 1961ish, but I can't find any Tom or Thomas Watson marrying a Rebecca Deakin in Belper in the years before 1911 when their first son was born.
Appreciate any help you can give. thanks

Google.......always Google.

In this case Google "Genuki Hemsworth"..a scroll down will give you a start..

Also Yorkshire BMD's is a free site..but probably doesn't include Hemsworth.

You can Google almost anything..a name a place or whtever...sometimes it comes up trumps..and if you have a place like Hemsworth..sticj "Genuki" in front of it.

Would you have any details in your data with regards to James Trickett and Margaret (Peggy Holt) who i am yet to prove are the parents of Robert Trickett 1826. James on the 1841-51 census is shown as a farmer. Deceased sometime between 51-61 census

Hello Mark.....thanks for your PM.

ROBERT TRICKETT 1826 from Rossendale Burnley Lancs..married ESTHER FIELDING also from Burnley..and moved to Derbyshire at some point.....They are at Hayfield 1881.1891.....Esther clearly died, and in 1897 at the age of 71 he married Martha Gregson from lancashire..and they are on the 1901 Hayfield Census.

He had a brother Benjamin who also came to the Hayfield/Glossop area....

Alison Report 29 Apr 2010 11:15

Hi Derek
I only just came across your thread about Derbyshire records. I have been doing some research on my family.

My great grandfather Tom (I assume short for Thomas) Watson and his wife Rebecca had all their 7 children in Belper (I was always told Knowts Cottage, Golden Valley, Alfreton,) but registration records show it to be Belper. Family folklore has always stated that Rebecca was a foundling (orphanage brought her up) so I hit a brick wall there, but her birth name (from looking up her children) comes up as Deakin/Daykin/Beakin (which I put down to transcription errors). Can't find any record of a marriage between Tom and Rebecca but would be grateful for any help you might be able to give.

Morning Derek. If you visit St.Wystans, Repton.wear your wellies it can be rather damp LOL. I know as OH and I wandered around there last summer. Unfortunately loads of headstones are under the trees at far side and are impossible to get to. I bet that is where some of my Measham lot are hiding. LOL.

Edit.. If anyone would like to know if their rellies gravestones are in Repton don't forget that I have the St.Wystans full entry of monuments in Book form and would be willing to look if the headstone is there for them and give them the plot number

Derek Report 29 Apr 2010 10:40
