Hi Derek, hope you are well. I have Herbert Blanksby born 1860 Notts. On 1911 he is living in Scarsdale Street, Chesterfield with his second wife Mary??? Born 1866 Hanley Staffs. According to census they were married in 1908 but I can find no trace of their marriage or indeed her maiden name. Any ideas please as Herbert had been in same area of Derbyshire since at 1901 I am assuming they married in that area |

Hello Joan.....sorry to keep you waiting........I'm afraid Dronfield is a non-starter....For your information Dronfield is near Chesterfield in Derbyshire.....Calverley is between Leeds and Bradford in Yorkshire. |

Henry is the last of five children born to William and Mary Holmes 05.10.1823....forget IGI it is so often complete rubbish..and if there is a John Henry 1812 as well..great..but no mention of any Catherine anywhere in brimington records.....maybe at Staveley.I'll look. |

Thanks for checking, didn't think there would be a baptism. I have his birth certificate already and have found him up to 1911 (with the exception of 1891). I don't think he knew he was illegitimate, he puts John Holmes Snr down as his father when he marries. |

Joy..the birth of Frederick William Holmes was registered at Chesterfield march 1863..can find no evidence that he was baptised..which was not uncommon. |
