Hi Claire...if it's Chesterfield itself rather than one of the many Parishes that make up parts of Chesterfield..I don't have the records....they are far too large to make available.........so I can't help you at this moment till I go to matlock...but I will look through what i've got around and about...

Hi Derek
Do you have marriages at Chesterfield for 1822? I have found what I think is a marriage of my ancestors there on the familysearch site but wondered if you could check yours if you have them to see if gives any more info, ie, witnesses.
Matthew Cutts (could be down as Coults or Coutts) to Faith (should be Cockayne) in 1822.

Im also looking for the baptism/parents of Faith Cockayne. According to IGI, she was baptised in 1802, mother Faith but no father named. However, I have found a marriage of a George Cockayne to a Faith Walker in 1792 at Chesterfield and wonder if George maybe died and then Faith went on to have my Faith illegitimately? Do you have burial records for Chesterfield to check if he died?

Sorry for such a long list. Hope this is ok.
Many thanks
Claire

Hallo Ellen.......the only confirmation that i can give you at the moment is that BENJAMIN was baptised 16.05.1798 son of John and Ann......but its a start!! will get back to you.
EDIT 13.43....ok.....If you bear in mind that Heage, Belper and Duffield are all more or less the same place ,with Duffield being the parish, then i can now give you a bit more info:

ANN HARRISON baptised Duffield daughter of John and Ann Harrison 07.08.1803.
Have also found Susannah 12.04.1807 Duffield, same parents..known as Sukey!..

Cannot yet find a marriage for John and Ann..though it is not impossible that he married AnnHARDY 21.11.1795 at Sawley long eeaton....grooms usually travelled to the bride's Parish in order to marry her, then whisked her away to his own parish!!

Hell John (White)..thanks for your PM..though as i have written to you, please use this thread for communication..by clicking on "REPLY" and then "SUBMIT" rather than on my name.
On here your enquiry is open to everyone and others may be able to halp you as well as me.

So....It was JAMES SPOONER who married MARY UNWIN at Old Brampton 30/03/1812..not Joseph.......and JOSEPH SPOONER baptised 07.03.1813 is their son...I cannot atthis moment give you his birthdate becasue PR's by and large onlky give Baptismal dates.

Neither James nor Mary were born in old Brampton....and if you're happy that they married at age 42 and had their first child at 43..which is uncommon to0 say the least..then Mary Unwin was born Dronfield Chesterfiel 1772 ..but I have to tell you that there is a James Spooner baptised ld Brampton 09.09.1792 son of James Spooner..which on the fa`e of it appears a more likely father for Joseph 1813.

Depends on how much you know and what your sources are. Please let me know.

Derk....

LOL Derek, oh what naughty people they are in Repton !!!!. Trust me to be related to loads of them . It is intriguing me though. Have also found son Richard buried as Sarson in St.Wystans.

Derek

Derek Report 28 Oct 2010 21:45

Collected the Taxes and distributed his largesse.............I have found a RICHARD SARSON and a RICHARD LARSON who married a SARAH SMITH at Repton 15.05.1830............who could well have been a widower by 1851...........and maybe had a penchant for Derbyshire girls called Sarah...........lol...
...............EDIT..and I've found the same Richard you found in 1851..but in 1841 with the same two children...so i'm quite happy that this is the man who married sarah Smith in 1830..let's start our own News of the World!!!

There's a least one in every family LOL. I appear to have more than my fair share LOL. Found a Sarson family as large as life (or death LOL) in Repton this needs a very close look. now quite interesting I have found a widower Richard Larson, constable and tax collector born 1809 Middx, in Repton on the 1851 census. Was it only tax he collected ???? LOL

Derek Report 28 Oct 2010 10:23

Gooner .good morning......The Sarah Atherley who gave birth to Rebecca Richard and Herbert..was unmarried when she had all three children.(1861 census) .and is therefore not the Sarah married to Henry.....Rebecca who married William Wayte..lists her father as Richard Sarson...(not henry Atherley).....whom Sarah never married..........told you she was a naughty girl!

Cesc Cesc Cesc !!! He's my number one LOL.
Thanks for date for Hannah. I found Hertbert and Robert both the same year on a census but then they both seem to disappear. Been searching both Larson and Sarson as it is on one census entry for the kids. Only Larson / Sarson I can find about the right age is from Leicester but I am still searching.

Hi LA..Theo!! Theo!!.......lol....no not reversed..just mistyped..sorry..should read Hannah born 15.02.1851..died 08.03.1851..........

and I was suggesting that Sarah had more than one illegitimate child because there is no record of her marriage.........and i have Larson....not Sarson..in both names..though who he was have yet to find out.
