Thank you for looking Derek.
I wont be able to do anything more on it personally as I cant find anything so far to say who his mother was and its not really my area.
Gimme pretty much anywhere in Wales and most Welsh surnames and Im in with a good shout, but Oop North geog and Im floundering.
But I know what you mean about County boundaries back then.
Pembrokeshire /Carmarthenshire and Cardiganshire couldnt make up their minds where they were a lot of the time.
Very annoying.

Hello Fan........I've had a good look at this..in fact i saw the original Thread..and started having a sniff around........trouble is there are too many options.....I'm not sure he was born in Derbyshire becasue of the Mirfield and Doncaster Yorks connection that keeps occurring....trouble is that I know this area very well..and as I told Dorothy below its that area that in the 19th century couldn't make up its mind whether it was in Derbyshire or Yorkshire...........Mirfield is sort of Sheffield Doncaster area but on some censuses id listed as Derbyshire......

I have John William greaves born Stavely..and eckington and Mossborough..would be intersting to know who he married....becuase i can find no father Robert.but I do have at least one wife..CATHERINE HALLAM???
The original poster really needs to tighten up the possible parameters a bit..like wife and children.......

Hello dorothy theresa.....ok.......RICHARD PEARSON baptised at Whittington Chesterfield 28.04.1776..brother of THURSTON PEARSON baptised Whittington 27.12.1777............sons of Thurston Pearson and his wife Anne nee Webster..who were married at Beighton 12.09.1773..

Richard Pearson married Millicent Gascoigne at Beighton 02.02.1807.

Millicent baptised Beighton 11.04.1784 daughter of Thomas......

They had only one son that I can find at the moment...Thurstan 1807

By 1841 RICHARD was alone in derby aged 65..and Thurstan his son had moved just over the Border into Yorkshire..where he married a Sarah..and had several Pearson children........
I can take that furthe down the line if I'm on the right track..
Bear in mind that Whittington Beighton and Eckington are very close together and are a stone's throw from South Yorkshire.
Derek.

Hi Derek,

i have just noticed you have missed out a generation for LaGooners Poxons.

Francis Poxon married Louisa Measham.
Francis Poxons father was Thomas poxon his mother was Elizabeth Smith.

Thomas Poxon was born circa 1826 first born child of Francis Poxon his mother was Elizabeth Pickering.

Both Thomas Poxon and his father Francis Poxon had a child called Francis born a year apart.

Hi Derek

Haven't done much research on my Bradley's to tell you the truth. I'm back to Nathaniel Bradley and ?his parents and that's as far as I've got.

Uncle does have a list of Chesterfield churches he's checked for Eliza but can't currently find it, he moved house recently. I'll make a note of those you don't have and pass the info on. Looks like Eliza will remain a mystery for a little longer.

Eliza's sister, Sarah, is my 2xGreat-Grandmother via her marriage to Richard Kirkland and daughter, Annie. Bit of a naughty girl was Annie and fiesty with it from what little Uncle remembers of her. I do have a couple of photos of Paul, who eventually became the Mace Bearer and Town Crier for Chesterfield.

Could you confirm when and where Sarah Kirkland (nee Bradley) died. I last have her and Richard living in Barlow in 1891. Can't find a death in Chesterfield, pre-1901 no matter what I do.

Thanks in anticipation.
Joy

Hello Joy....have found an awful lot about the Bradleys of Chesterfield.a very well know and respected family going back several generations and including a Lord Mayor........but ELIZA is elusive.......there are so many Chesterfield Parishes..of which I have PR's for several but not all..Old Brampton and brampton St Thomas being teo of them....

Henry and Sarah were married at Old Brampton 30.06.1834...Sarah was a Bradley daughter of Nathaniel Bradley...a non-Conformist Wesleyan...
in 1809..Henry born 1808.

Eliza was baptised Chestefield.(somewhere) 25.03.1835..........she was the eldest of five children of Henry and Sarah......there ar photographs of the youngest sibling Paul bradley.

There is a possibility of Eliza Bradley as a servant in 1861..but at the moment have got no further......

I don't know how much you know about the bradleys..but I have found plenty!!..but not Eliza!!

Thank You Derek, I had seen the name Ann Hardy before but thought it might have been too far away from Belper/Duffield to be her. I live in Western Australia & really have no idea where these places are.
Too many John Harrison's marrying a Ann.
I do appreciate your help here.
Kind Regards
Ellen

Derek Thanks for your time. I am knew to this and have printed out your message as anything I have to remember on a computer seems to go over my head. I was given the information on Joseph Spooner by a distant relative but she seems to have got off on the wrong track.
In Matlock will they allow you to buy a writen copy of a baptism or do I need more information on J SPOONER baptised 07 03 1813. This is all I have. In Australia we have no access to parish records only through the Latter Day Church and this is hit and miss. We also have an 11hr time difference.
