hEY HEY HEY!!// who's a naughtygirl then??? :-D supposing I told you that the dates for David H Livingstone 1843-1910 were so perfectly matched ...
tha I believe you gave me the dates NOT for Thomas Henry Livingstone, but for his parents!!!......and that Thomas was born in 1877 and joined the Lithgrapher's Trade Union in 1911..a year after his alleged death!! Derek......

many of my Jenkinsons are from Great Cubley or just Cubley I have Thomas Jenkinson born 1697 died 1763 wife Mary Bourne born 1701 died 1770 ------------

Thomas son of Richard and Dorothea Jenkinson if you have a marriage index
is Richard J and Dorothea on it ?? and any more of their children ?

This Jenkinson family are connected some where to Admiral Sir Charles Saunders -- when he died in 1775 in his will he left £1,000 pounds to each of Thomas and Mary Jenkinson children -- knowing the married names as well. He was an Uncle to them

Hello Mavis..........there is a lot of work to do on this..a lt of confusing nonsense..not the least of which is an Earl of liverpool that was not created until 1790 or thereabouts son of Robert and Dorothea Ashbourne 01.03 1658!!
Your baptism on the 6th September 1697 of THOMAS JENKINSON son of Richard and Dorothy..actually took place in the Parish of Shirley and is n the PR's for Shirley..not Cubley.
Most of the allegedly Cubley stuff is entered as Ashbourne..which is ok because Cubley is only 6 miles from Ashbourne..which is irrelevant IF your Thomas was baptised on the date you give.
Having said that.all the Jenkinson baptisms in Shirley (13) end in 1697..details to follow...
There is only one marriage in the Shirley PR's that of Elizabeth Jenkinson to Thomas Melland 18.11.1694...and onl NINE burials 1669 -1748.
So it loos as though the Jenkinson Clan upsticks and go..possibly to Cubley by 1700
Back to your Baptisms and children of Richard and Dorothy:
Dorothy 23.09.1679
Ann 05.11.1677
Elizabeth 20.11.1682 buried 08.11.1683
Susanna 19.11.1694
THOMAS 06.09.1697.......the last jenkinson birth in Shirley.

What you want to make of this i don't know..but I'll do a bit of work on it, and try to sort the wheat from the chaff.........
Derek
EDIT 1 ok..have cracked t..they moved to CUbley, where Thomas and his wife MARY nee BOURNE had loads of kids and Thomad ded at Cubley 1763.

EDIT.2.I have had a quick look at the distinguished career of Admiral Charles Saunders born in London
1715 to James Saunders...married Miss Buck of London 1751..with no Derbyshire connection I can see..he had no children and died 1775
.

Thanks Derek -- do you have the early deaths of Jenkinsons at Cubley ?? up to about
1800

So perhaps then no marriage in Derbyshire for Richard Jenkinson and Dorothy
a later marriage of John Jenkinson and Elizabeth Spencer took place in Uttoxeter.

on Admiral Sir Charles Saunders he was infact the son of Ambrose and Anne Saunders bp at St.Andrews Holborn Ldn. 1715 -- I wrote to the Heralds of Arms a few years ago asking about his pedigree needed for his coat of arms which is why I know .

Ambrose may be the Brother of Sir George Saunders another Admiral also thought could be Charles father..

Charles Saunders sister Anne married Peter Kinsey the daughter of this marriage --Ann -- she married Richard Huck -- had to change surname to Saunders to inherit from Sir Charles Sunders will.

But it still dos'nt help me find the connection between the Jenkinson family and as to why Sir Charles Saunders was " Uncle " to them [ even my mother knew there was a famous relative buried in Westminster Abbey ]
