The 1901 census places him as part of Walter Levi Walden's b.1866 family with Ellen as the mother. Unfortunately for him he was in Wormwood scrubs at age 16 under the name of Walter Waldon. The next English census is of no use as he should be in australia His name appears with his then wife sarah wilson as the father of my father in 1911. I have that certificate. |

What actual evidence do you have of him, could he still be wandering around in the bush ! |

Thanks for the lesson Lindsey I have a glimmer of understanding Should I still leave them in my tree with a question mark or would you just delete them? |

Well now ,a quick check of Joseph Walden , he is most likely to be a son of William Walden Coal dealer of Foleshill, which is a long way up country from your Waldens. |

Looks like that Walter either wasn't married to Alice or they married elsewhere! This is the only Walter / Alice marrige between 1900 and 1910! |

I think Root may have confused you there a little, they are not all in the same household! |

Ive just reread rootgatherers 1911 census which appears a little muddled. However it looks like Walter 1866 and ellen's house with their sons james and alf. |

I think the descendants of George P. (the basket weaver) may have produced more than 1 Walter Walden. So really without buying the certificates you wouldn't know which one belongs to which branch! |

I think you have all been wonderful. I will try to put it into perspective, Geo P the builder 1820 had 7 children this is not important. Walter levi Walden 1866 was in that generation and he and ellen strong had 6 children the first of these was Walter levi Walden 1884 the man in question. He married sarah wilson in fulham 1904 Another Walter levi 1905 1906 a James 1908 1909 and Sidney 1909 1910 who died enroute to Fremantle Aus. were born and died. Sarah and her infant were shown on a passenger list in 1910 but no sign of Walter. However he made it to perth Aus. because the first surviving child my father chas wm weeks was born in 1911 Forget the surname which is the one I also incorrectly carry because Chas Wm's birth cert shows walter and sarah together and we should carry the Walden name The next child is a guess but I am sure that madge Jane Weeks was also a Walden B. in 1914. Now for some reason Walter decided to return to fulham. My best guess is it would be any time from mid 1914 but in time to marry annie Cox in 1916. There you have it ; a potted history of Walters life and he is still in his ealy 30's. I hope this makes sense and you can understand why I am trying to track his movements. Questions about the marriage to sarah and whether a divorce was ever obtained are questions to be answered..Although she lived with Tom Weeks they did not marry until 1940 I hope this helps. |
