I dont think the Foleshill births are connected

Marriages Dec 1921 (>99%)
Cox Grace Walden Foleshill 6d 1228
Walden Joseph Cox Foleshill 6d 1228

lindsey,
I bow to your knowledge because I am a novice in this intricate art of genealogy but why would they not be a continuation of the family line. The BMD has a 99% probability of accuracy, the dates chronologically add up and the parents have the right names In addition there is no continuation of that line in Wokingham.
What am I missing?
I am eager to learn Thanks .........colin

Well now ,a quick check of Joseph Walden , he is most likely to be a son of William Walden Coal dealer of Foleshill, which is a long way up country from your Waldens.
Which makes me think that the 2 Foleshill births are not your relatives.

Because there is another Walden marriage in Foleshill that puts a huge question mark. You cannot presume that they belong to your Walter.and they are much more likely to be Joseph's. You could be heading off on a wild goose chase.

As far as 99% accuracy well, it's that 1% that you have to watch !
There are sooooo many mistakes in all the records, I waste an awful lot of my time submitting corrections.

We are now on thread 3 which is still telling you to buy Walters marriage certs !
Hey ho

I think we have wrung out every drop of Walden information that exists !

Colin

Colin Report 24 Nov 2009 06:17

Thanks for the lesson Lindsey I have a glimmer of understanding Should I still leave them in my tree with a question mark or would you just delete them?
After your answer I think I will close off all the threads and conentrate more on the initial question about passenger lists to and from London1910 to 1915.

Lindsey* Report 24 Nov 2009 06:30

What actual evidence do you have of him, could he still be wandering around in the bush !

I wouldn't put the 2 extra children on your tree, that seems to be misleading.

We still don.t have a definite census record for him, which will name his parents, and siblings.
This isn't a cheap hobby and you do have to throw money at it to get the right answers.
And we are all going round in circles with this man.! If I find him I may have to kill him off ! lol

Colin

Colin Report 24 Nov 2009 08:24

The 1901 census places him as part of Walter Levi Walden's b.1866 family with Ellen as the mother. Unfortunately for him he was in Wormwood scrubs at age 16 under the name of Walter Waldon. The next English census is of no use as he should be in australia His name appears with his then wife sarah wilson as the father of my father in 1911. I have that certificate.
I believe he also fathered madge jane weeks in 1914 so in between thisI he might have been wandering around the bush.
The question is did he leave in 1914 to return or am I mistaken about madge and if so did he leave earlier to be in Fulhamfor the courtship and the wedding in 1916 to annie A Cox. Interesting isn't it.?.
By the way do I have to notify the administrator to close all threads or do they lapse over tiime?

Colin the best and only way to *close* a thred is to ammend your title to reflect this.

Goto the first post on your thread, click 'edit' and you can then change the title.... i would suggest something like....

UK Arrivals - **CLOSED**

Most of us oldies here recommend this, it stops us from opening them all!

If only everyone had the thought to do this we'd all be happier lol.

Whatever you do DO NOT delete your thread, this is annoying as the data found for you could be useful for someone else.

Threads never expire here (whish is a pain as much as it is a pleasure!!)

Colin

Please don't closed the thread until you buy that Walter and Annie Cox marriage certificate!

Please come back and gives us the details from it as we are all now eager to know if it was YOUR Walter or one of his cousins or, indeed, no relation of his!!

Root,

I think Colin was referring to closing the thread to prevent any more people telling him he has to buy the certs lol...

Now here's an interesting thing !

On both George and Walters marriage certs they have the address 17 Chelmsford Street

On Military records I find Walter

Name: Walter Walden
Estimated birth year: abt 1883
Age at Enlistment: 31
Residence: 17 Chelmsford St, Fulham SW
Document Year: 1914
Regimental Number: 30783
Number of Images: 8

Next of kin Alice Batton Friend.

He is in hospital for nearly a month being t reated for syphilis which could quite possibly account for 3 of his children dying young earlier

So now we know he was in England by 1914.

Thankyou , I was about to look it up, saved me a trawl !

Good that makes a big difference and cuts down the return time.

WayneTracey

WayneTracey Report 25 Nov 2009 15:31

It might be worth investigating the brother's marriages (we have George's), maybe he was witness to either?

Tracey x

rootgatherer

rootgatherer Report 25 Nov 2009 15:32

So he may not be the father of Madge Jane Weeks born in 1914 then?

WayneTracey

WayneTracey Report 25 Nov 2009 15:35

opon closer inspection there are 3 families living at the address, The Walden's, the Hyde's and the Philip's....

If that helps any?

To remind you of the 1911...

WALDEN, Walter Head Married 27 years M 45 1866 Wood Sawyer Parish Fulham
WALDEN, Ealain Wife Married F 45 1866 Parish Fulham
WALDEN, James Son M 14 1897 Parish Fulham
WALDEN, Alfred Son M 12 1899 Parish Fulham

WayneTracey Report 25 Nov 2009 15:36

As Walter's name is Walden and his wife died a Weeks??, and she's born a Weeks it does seem a little unlikely?

Unless he left because he had gotten someone else pregnant?
