Hi Dea,
thank you for your help.
I seem to have a better picture now, but i can't find the marriage for WTW and Sarah Lord, it does look like the same Sarah Lord all the way with Eda and Frances, which is a possertive.
Oh and i can't find a Sarah Lord or Whittaker to John Donley unless the Donley on John is spelt differently!!.
Thank you for helping i could not do all this on my own.
Simon.
100 that is a long thread don't you think!

103 now Simon - Not bad going eh ??
I will keep a look out for the marriages for you and get back if I find anything.
Re the cert and something you cannot read on there! - Are you able to scan it into your computer and e-mail me a copy? - I could then take a look for you.
Dea x
P.S. - Wierdly, - had she lived that long, your Eda would have been celebrating her 100th birthday on the very day my son was born !! - 17th April, 1974.

THIS IS NOT THE END OF THIS THREAD! I HOPE.
This is just to update and thank all the people that have given up so much time to get to the stage below. i will be continuing this thread as so much more of the following families are involved and can be found, DONLEY / WHITTAKER / ROCHFORD / REID.
Please see below.
Frances Donley and Eda Whittaker were step sisters born to the same mother Sarah Whittaker nee Lord / Sarah Donley nee Lord, Sarah was my Great Great Grandmother and was born around 1851 in Bacup, Lancashire
Eda Whittaker my Half Great Grandmother was born on 17th April 1874, in Oldham Below Town, Oldham, 1 Court, Chadderton Road, father Whittaker Thorpe Whittaker,he was an Iron Turner, mother Sarah Whittaker nee Lord.
Frances Donley my Great Grandmother was born 17th August 1883, in Sheffield, 53 Snow Lane, father John Donley, he was a tailor journeyman, he lived with Sarah and Eda before they came to Sheffield. mother Sarah Donley nee Lord.
We have not yet found any marriage for Sarah to any of the above, following the path over the last few months we found all this, i got all the birth and marriage certs as i wanted to be confident i was correct, they underpin our findings, even down to Sarah Donley been at the marriage of Eda and William Reid.
Frances went on to marry John Rochford who was from Sligo in Ireland, they married in sheffield in 1905, they had eight children one of them was my Grandmother who died 2002, she always said that Sarah had been married before, she was right, one of France's other daughters is still living, i have not been able to tell her all about this as she is really ill, we hope we can let her know before it's too late.
I hope this will coninue Regards Simon.
Yes i know i can't type and spell at the same time, it's a man thing!!!

Good Evening barbara.
Thank you, that looks like the chap, as i put him at around 35 when Eda was born, and i can't imagine another WTW.
I wonder if we can track him, i am sure i did find a WW married to a betty Lord but not a Sarah.
Hope you are well.
Regards Simon.

Hi Barbara.
Thank you.
Yes thats the one, but i think now someone i think Dea had said she was matched with Calderbank.
Also just gone back and noticed on page 4 of this thread June found a Louise born to parents Whittaker Thorpe Whittake and Sarah Whittaker, at that stage it never clicked, this must be them, i can't imagine another W THORPE W.
This may be a good one to trace backwardsand forward, "can anyone help" me with this please.
Kind regards Simon.

Hi Maureen.
Yes i think you are correct, Lord seems vey a very common name in Lancashire around the mid 1800's.
I also could not find any more info on the WTW ? Sarah and Louisa.
the thread seems to be going a little cold with info on WTW and Sarah, without finding a marriage it will be hard.
Regards Simon.
