Thank you all for your help,
I give up,
he can stay lost,
along with the reason why his wife says she is a widow and changes her first name on 1881.
And yet her death in 1881 is reg as Letitia.

The Perkins/Wtakins side of this family were easier by comparison.
I shall just take what I have with all your helps?with me to Ireland when I go to stay with my friend and tell her if she wants more than what I have she can take a hike elsewhere!

The 1901 details so we can all see them all:

Name: Cattarozzi Eugene
Age: 76
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1825
Relation: Servant
>> Where born: Italy

Civil parish: St Pancras

Italy, an assumption by the employer?

Odd -- the Cook above him is born in Austria.

He's widower, occupation Secretary, with annotation "CC" in front of it. Working for Foreign Agent for Servants. Ah, and early foreign domestic worker agency.

you can also do other fruits. i like raspberry gin best and it makes loads because you add some water. Sloe gin is best kept for a year before drinking.

Crap! I looked at everything else on the image and somehow managed not to see that! Even though I've actually been searching using Australia too, it having been done in reverse to my Monck uncles in one record, born Australia, Ancestry decided it was Austria ... so hey, it's possible. ;)

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 13 Oct 2009 20:14

I will go with him Janey as I did wonder about him, although on image it says born Australia
he must have been around sometimes as he had kids with Letitia between 1871 and 1881 didnt he.
I have searched for hours through the incoming and outgoing passengers also, not a hair of his head have I seen.

Ok ,if that is possibly him in 1871 where is he in 81,,please....

Mother has that sort,I got her the tree some years back, hope it fruits before she pops off.

I thought you put Sloes in gin for christmas.

I dont think you should if you fall over just PICKING them, getting PICKLED on them will make things worse.

Where born: Austria
condition as to marriage: married

Civil parish: Stoke Next Guildford

Lea Jale (?) Lane

Head of household is widow, licensed joint proprietor lunatic asylum, and there are only five patients, the other four considerably older men, all rather bourgeois it seems.

giggle giggle. Axel was just another strange name! My damson trees are Meriweather Damsons and they are bigger than the ones you buy in the shops. Lovely just off the tree when ripe. I was hoping to put some in some gin for Christmas.

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 13 Oct 2009 19:30

Mel!

It took me a while to find the email that confirmed my dim memory ... a distant cousin in Canterbury told me over two years ago that she'd found a report of the brother-in-law of my grx2 grandfather's first wife (not my grx2 grandmother) dying:

"in 1892, after falling out of his damson tree, breaking his arm and getting lockjaw!"

My next question was: what's a damson tree? (Plums, I think?)

So -- be careful!
