Unlikely, but you never know!

USA – Louisiana (LA), Hammond Town, Tangipahoa county. Around July 1907 – death/obituary
George Philip Banner born 1838 in ‘England’ (Kent)
He was a US Civil War veteran and was allegedly buried with full military honours.

Minister Murdered

A Chicago Suburb the Scene of a Bloody Crime

Chicago, Aug 19 - Rev Samuel Breakwell, one of the oldest residents of Highwood, was assainated on a street of that village by Carl Pethke, a tailor who for the last four years has lived with the former wife of his victim. Pethke stole up behind Mr Breakwell and plunged a pocket knige into his neck. Then he threw his arms around the minister's neck and stabbed him under the eye. Mr Breakwell sank down on the sidewalk with a groan and within two minutes was dead. Business differences between the two men are said to have a good deal to do with the trouble which culminated in the murder.

Mr Breakwell was a minister of the Welsh Baptist church, and for the last year or more had been in charge of a church in Darten, Wla(?). He was 65 years old.

He was stabbed, not shot.. Sorry thats all it says and it seems to be over a property and his ex wife.

Old Stedman Green not there is he.........being flogged for deserting his British family!!

Hi, and thank you. I am looking for an accident in Bristol @ Filton Aerodrome involving a Mr Maggs who was working on the hangar doors of the Brabazon when he was caught in the hangar doors and was badly injured. Mr Maggs lived in Bristol in Knowle West. The year would have been around 1947. Any information you can find would be great.

There were 2 other parties that also contested the ownership , would love to know their names .

I have a great uncle who went to illinois he was a preacher and also owned a grocer store his name was samuel breakwell, He was murdered (shot) in highwood illinois, by his wifes lover.!!

I have found a couple of articles about him but wondered if you could find anything else i'm trying to find his children and hoping another article may mention his children.

I have a relative in the US he died in 1907 aged about 27 years he was a policeman, and lived in Clarke County, Ohio, his family came from Springfield. I just wondered if his early death and his occupation had anything to do with each other? if you can help I would be grateful.
