You have my head in a spin. I never would have put that particular slant on a given name. I always thought it was a most unfortunate choice for a man to be so named. I'm trying to think of a parallel - like Carson or Jackson being used as a given name. I googled the idea and came up with information on that concept.

The names have been handed down through about four generations. This is what I have to sort out. Will start tomorrow afternoon. I shall return.

What I was doing was looking at the Much Hadham baptism and trying to find a link with the names. Looked for Sumertons and Mansfield in Much Hadham.
but came up with nothing.

Looking at it as a surname indicates their may be a marriage at some point with that surname.

I cannot see anything interesting there

There are only a few Mansfield families in Shoreditch in 1841.
If Elizabeth married there 1803 it is possible that other Mansfield families in Shoreditch may be related. It is the only clue we have at the moment.
