Hello T

Last week you very kindly found me info on my "Collins" brickwall, is it possible you could check 1930 census USA for Joseph Collins born Manchester 1879c entered USA 1882 also Sarah Ellen Collins born 1880 although she probalby married by then. Ernest Collins born 1890 and Franklin J Collins born 1895. You found details of previous census and deaths for Ernest and Franklin of which I'm eternally grateful.
All above children of Joseph and Catherine nee Mannion.

Thank you

Frances

Hi T

Trying to find the father and mother of a William Eady born in Holborn, London 1847. I think William married Esther Haines around 1865/1866 but am having trouble finding his parents. Any info would be appreciated on either William or Esther.

Many thanks.
Margaret

Hi Lisa,

1981/1982 is late for Ancestry to have records for those kind of years. Sorry

Could someone please lookup the following:

One of my ancestor's, Timothy Marrinan, went over to the USA some time between 1901 and 1911. He was born 1889 in County Clare, Ireland. He is in the 1901 Irish Census, and someone in my family told me that he died in 1911 in the USA - apparantely he was shot.

I would imagine he left from Queenstown (now Cobh), in County Cork.

On Ancestry, there are two Timothy Marrinan's with a good rating, one "Timothy Marrinan" and the other "Timothy Joseph Marrinan". I don't know if if my ancestor is one of them - could someone who has access to these give me the information (and possibly email me the original images - if there are any - I can give you my email address in a PM on GR).

Thanks in advance,

Niall

Hi T I think you have helped me before. Thanks for your time and trouble doing lookups.
I am looking for the father of Sarah Kippins (Kippens) and thought perhaps her marriage on the London Marriages and Banns would help. Could you look this up for me please, she married William Harris in Essex but I don't know when.
Or perhaps on the Births and Baptisms, she was born in Kingston on Thames around 1820. Many thanks. Brit

Niall..

This is one closest to his birth years..

Says he's a Grocer's assistant. The name and address where he came from was Brother, James Marrinan in Curraghhodes?? Lahinch? going to Brooklyn NY

Would that tally with Irish census having a brother called James?

Niall

Niall Report 15 Oct 2009 17:47

Hi T,

That's brilliant I think that is correct, he did indeed have a brother James and was from Curragh O'Dea in County Clare, Ireland. Lehinch is also a few miles up the road.

If I am correct, I think the RMS Lusitania was a famous ship that sank a few years later, killing about 1200 people on board!

If I send you my email address, can you email me the original passenger list image? That would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Brit..

So far I cannot spot the marriage yet.. Kingston would be under Surrey and Marriage & Banns covers most of Surrey but I dont think it covers Kingston in order to find her baptisms or she wasnt baptised.

As for the marriage, it's the same for Essex, it covers a small part of Essex - where about in Essex do you know? Any more info on either these gouple or a census info that you do know?

HI T, Thanks for looking. I have her as born 1820 but that is not certified. She had a daughter Emily who died in 1839 so presumably the marriage was before that. Her husband William Harris died in Romford in 1845. She went on to marry a Joseph Colledge at Romford in 1847, under the name Sarah Harris. taking with her two daughters Anne and Henrietta Harris. Does that help at all? Rgds Brit

Oh a bit more: I just found the info on the 1881 Sarah was 66, so that would have made her born in 1815. I know she was older than Joseph by several years and he was born in 1820. Brit

Eames Report 15 Oct 2009 19:48

Brit..

It did a bit but havent found the marriage or anything, I have found her in 1851 and she had 2 daughters with her Ann E b 1837 and Henrietta b 1845. So the marriage will be before the 1837 registration starts unfortunately.

So she either married in Essex or in her home town, Kingston Surrey and sadly not in London marriages on Ancestry..Oh hang fire.. I just remembered having few credits left on FindMyPast site that I hardly used.. And ta-dah..

T you are a gem! That's brilliant. I do appreciate your using your precious findmypast credits!!! Thanks so much. Even without her father's name I do have confirmation I have the right Sarah anyway. Best regards Brit.
