Margery - I stumbled across this - you ought to follow up on it via link

Name Cemetery County Township Reference
BREITENFELD, Fred W. Elmdale Memorial Park, St Thomas Elgin Yarmouth EL-520
BREITENFELD, Karl (-1980) Stayner Union Simcoe Nottawasaga SM-NO-3570
BREITENFELD, Leonard F. Elmdale Memorial Park, St Thomas Elgin Yarmouth EL-520
BREITENFELD, Violet A. Elmdale Memorial Park, St Thomas Elgin Yarmouth EL-520

http://www.islandnet.com/ocfa/

St Thomas in Elgin Co, Ont is abt 30km S of London - say 200km from Detroit and 150 km from Hamilton

I don't know if Karl is anything to do with anything, but Simcoe Co is the Co between L Simcoe (50-80 km N of Toronto) and Nottawasaga Bay, the S end of Georgian Bay on L Huron. Stayner is 6km S of the S tip of the bay.

UPDATE
More scrounging around gets:

Ginny - I think debarred isn't the same as deported.
If you're deported, you're kicked out of the country, but this is a record from a port of entry, so I think debarred probably means they were denied entry.

Ginny, the marriage you have found for Augustus + Fanny (Smith) seems to confirm that the marriage on page 1 posted by mgnv for Frederick William to Violet Agnes ROWE in 1922 is a definate for Albert's brother Frederick W.

..................

Ginny,

I am tempted to pm Margery and let her know that all this 'lovely' info is sitting on her thread but I think that perhaps you should have that pleasure as it was you who put in all the hard work, particularly at the beginning.

She said she is new and it would be a shame if she didn't know how to find her thread ??

Just curious Colin - does the passenger list give any other details like occupation or addresses etc. on these people which might further confirm that we have the correct ones?
