WW1 Army Records

I am trying to get my father-in-law's army record. I know he was in the Royal Army Medical Corps and he enlisted in 1916. As far as I know he wasn't wounded and presumably came out f the army at the end of the war. I know his service number but don't know how to start to find his service record.
