thanks christine, i have just done the thread.. the plot is thickening. I have spoke to another family member about John hagar and she has said family rumour is that he was an illegal imagrant? so thats why the change of name. Also rumours the line was linked to prussion?? but all rumours,,,, and nothing solid,,, will have to get his marriage certificate i think!! that may do it,,?? finding a birth certificate?? german on the censsors? |

ok i may have found something but not sure its relevant. I found a john Eckhard at age 48? were in 1901!!?? a convict! at grove portland dorset. He is classed as married?? but the only ting that dont mach is that he was a south african british national. i was wondering did the family move to devon? to be near dad?? |

I have just had a though after googling and finding that in 1890 to 1911 liverpool went througha slums regeneration program. Massive amount of houses were build to house the familys in the slums.. I am thinking,, would a german family be given a house? if they were not from england? did they have to have a points system?? |

Normally the name on your birth certificate has to be the same on your marriage certificate ie Johan Eckeho should be the correct spelling,but would have got written down in various other ways. |
