Irish Roots - Peter King\Ann Dorris

Hi,

I am looking for a bit of assistance in finding out a bit more about my GGG Grandfather Peter King. I know he was born in Ireland (guessing around 1826) however have no idea what area, he married Ann Dorris also in Ireland and they had at least one child together , my GG Grandfather Patrick King. I know from Census records Patrick was born in Ireland in 1850.

I am unsure when the the family moved to Scotland and I can find no census records with any trace of the family. I do know that Patrick married in Glasgow in 1873, by that time Peter King, who is recorded as a merchant seaman was deceased.

I can find no trace of his death certificate anywhere and wonder if someone could point me in the right direction as to how i should follow this up. Thanks very much for any assistance provided.
