there are a lot of Crewe families in Guernsey and a Mary Crewe married name born eng so this mary maybe Sophies Parents the godmother ,she was born guernsey so i can check her out next time,Maybe with any luck her father came from devon too,looks likly with family ties here.

its possable that they married here but thomas was born in devon in 1880 and then in 1881 in the house of correction in jersey seems alot of jumping about, also the 1881 census says Eliza was born devon
