I posted a message for US look ups, so sorry if you saw that and I am repeating information, thats not my intention but I have only just seen your kind offer.

I am trying to find Thomas Lloyd Rogers born 1846, Caernarfon, Wales, he married an Elizabeth Margaret Yapp Pughe in 1875, Liverpool. He had 3 children, 2 boys, 1 girl who died in Wales age 13. The 2 boys, one was definately called Frederick.

Thomas Rogers was a mariner and Capt of a passenger ship that ran between New York and Havanna. All I know about him is he died in New York, I think sometime around the 1910-1920.

I was hoping there may be some information on him on the US census, or a death record for him.

There is a frederick Rogers on the passenger lists who leaves from Liverpool 24 March 1912 to New York and returns to Liverpool 6th April 1912, although he started the return voyage from Queenstown (Canada?) - New York - Liverpool. I wonder if he went to New York as his father was ill or had died?

i have looked for him going out to canada on a passenger ship and cant find anything on his attestation papers for canadian forces it says he had already served in the army in the uk I wonder if he went over to canada on a military ship rather than an passenger liner

It was a suprise that Frank Barker says he was going to join his sister Mrs J Young in Lenapah Oklahoma in 1921 as we had no idea she went to the USA.
Could you please look to see if you can find anything on his sister.All I have is :-
Elizabeth Barker born 25/3/1882 Barming Kent married John Young born unknown in Croydon 1909.

Sorry to bother you, I hope you don't mind my rather obtuse query, but I'm trying to find out some info on my grd father's visit to USA in 1907. His name was George Tomlin and lived in Wigan, Lancashire, England.
He travelled on the Saxonia from Liverpool and arrived Boston 12 April 1907. His friends name/ sponsor was a William Brenaman - address as much as I can read off ships manifest is "215 Springhill ns" Boston; not sure about the 'ns' bit. The family have no info on what he did or where he went during the 6 yrs he was away, although I remember my father saying he had been in Canada at some time. He was a bricklayer by trade, so I assume he worked during the time he was away.
Any links to Brenaman in Boston then or now would be useful, or any other info.

This is getting to me I am confusing myself let alone you!! I said you had found him going to Canada 5th April 1919 but that was when he went back to be de-mobbed from out of the Army after the War ..

Could you search for when he actually went out to Canada originally would have been before April 1916 as he served in the Canadian Irish Rangers for a while before he joined the Expeditionary Force in Aug 1916 would love to find this out .. wonder why he went to Canada I know I won't ever know but would be nice to find when he went over there the first time.

Lorraine, just re read your info .. yes you have found him going to Canada 5th April 1919 (strange wonder why, it's like he was running away and then to go and enlist and come back to fight in the war .. something really iffy! about this man lying about his date of birth, makes it really hard to find out who he really was.

Have only found two George Wharram's for his father and neither seem to be the right ones as he says born in Hull, one is from London and the son George W born in Sheffield my George did not have a W after his name and the other is Father named George but he is a shepherd live in Yorks Pockthorpe son is George but he was born in Yorks Pockthorpe not Hull.

I wonder if I will ever solve the mystery!!

You are a treasure, you have found out something I needed to know .. his going back to either Canada or America , you see he disappeared from my Grandmothers life so it looks like he went to New York but he was Crew so I wonder if he stayed with that Ship and went further afield or left the ship and stayed in America.

On his marriage certificate dated 8th March 1917 ( he married her whilst fighting in the 1st World War on the field in France) he has his father also as a George Wharram (deceased) I can't find him either! and my Grandmother is the Muriel Bailey he mentions as his step sister in his War Records (the Bailey was not her name as she was christened Muriel Gilbert) her mother was Edith L Gilbert and she married Ernest Bailey in 1899.

I would still like to know when he actually went to Canada before 1916 as he served in the Canadian Irish Rangers for a while before he joined the Expeditionary Force in Aug 1916 .. I wonder why he went to Canada in the 1st place!

I have since discovered that members of the Barker family went to the USA. with the Craig family that you found yesterday on the Aquitainia.
Lily Craig nee Barker 's mother ,brother and sister went with her.
They are :-
Frank Charles Barker born 2/9/1900 Croydon.
Daisy Barker born 12/9/1902 Croydon.
Sarah Harriet Barker born 14/10/1862 Gibraltar.
Is there any information on the above 3 after they arrived New York 23/2/1921.

Could you look for a George Wharram (my Grandfather whom I never knew) he was already in Montreal Canada serving in the Canadian Irish Rangers and then enlisted into the The 199th (Duchess of Connaught's Own Irish Rangers) Battalion Canadian Expeditionary Force and came over to the UK to fight in France the 1st World War in1916 he went back to Montreal in 1919 I know that ... but what I would like to know is when he actually went to Canada in the first place before 1916 ... his birth date that he gave on his Army Papers of May 21st 1895 is not Registered in the UK Birth Registry though he states he was born in Hull. Could you try and find him before 1916 please, he could be in Montreal, I would like to find out when he actually went over to Canada and also I know he came back to the UK after he was demobbed in 1919 and would also like to know what date he came back to the UK .. I hope I am not asking too much.
I am new to building my Tree and already this man is giving me problems lol

Thank you so much, yes Annie Scott's maiden name was Lamb, she and Thomas Scott had five children, all supposedly born in Frood Mine Sudbury, Ontario, before returning to Liverpool, England.

My grandfather in law was John Stanley Scott born 19/04/1914, I would seriously love to find out more about his birth if I can.

John Stanley Scott had five siblings, you have found two of them (THANKYOU) can you possibly find:

I have a Lily Barker born 1891 Croydon Surrey who married a Douglas B Craig in 1918 at Croydon,then at sometime they went to the USA.
A hint came up on Ancestry with a Doulas B Craig 1930 American census Residence Rogers Oklahoma.
Could you please have a look for me to see if it says where Douglas was born and his age as I cannot find his birth and also anybody else living with him.
