He didnt go there till 1919. He had a daughter born Scotland 1916.
The one you found with Isabel I see it has imigration 1902.

He was still in Scotland 1911 and census not out yet.

Hi Lorraine I have an ancestor, Andrew Benjamin Wilkes born St.George in the East in 1842. I believe he may have gone to the USA sometime after 1873, he was a toy maker by trade. He seems to have changed his name to Andrew Benjamin Ross at some stage but I wonder if you could find any details of him going abroad please. Many thanks Irene

I have a John Turnbull c1891 Scotland Dundee area. He died in Chicago, Cook, Jan 1937.3405 Pulaski rd,county of Cook.
The informant was a Kathleen R Turnbull .

He left Uk c1920.I think he went to New york, Theres a record of a John Turnbull going from Glasgow on 24th Nov 1919 on the Columbia?This one was an engineer. Could well be him as on his death cert he was a tool maker.

What I am trying to find is his marriage to Kathleen unknown and any family they may have had. They may have married in Chicago or New york.

I have another thread on records but I spotted your offer and thought i would ask you.

this is the second reply now I have studied the information you have sent. The details on Eva McCann now make everything fall into place. Her husband would be my mothers cousin. I have a letter written by the daughter of Ellen Mellor who talks about Eva as though my mum would know her but I had never heard of her. Any information on the Duffs will be more than welcomed. Emma named her daughter Sarah Louisa after her two youngest sisters, Sarah and my grandmother Louisa Mellor.It is so lovely to have this information, thank you so much. Best wishes Janet

I have printed your reply off and I am going to sit and study. I feel overwhelmed at this information. Whilst I had the census information only on Ellen I am still at a loss who the William Mellor aged 7 on the 1920 census could be. I have tried to find out.. My personal quest is to find what happened to my grandmother Mellors's family and I have 14 to account for. You have now helped me with number thirteen Emma Mellor. The only one I have to find is an elusive Joseph Mellor born July 1864 Fulstone Huddersfield, a stone mason. Rumour has it he was last seen leaving San Francisco for New Zealand. The last census he was in England was 1901 but because there are strong links with America he could have visited or lived there.
I'm not sure how you have managed to get this information as I have tried in the past . I am so grateful. With best wishes Janet .
