Thanks for your previous information on the Scopez'. Further to D. Scopez arriving N.Y 16 October, 1921 onboard the Pannonia, can you tell where he departed from, as well as, you stated that there was another Scopez on the same trip, do you have a name for that person?

i have solomon selby born 1849 nottingham parents george selby and sophia dennis he marries alice in nottingham has 2 sons last one born 1878 nottingham but by 1881 she is remarried and states widow
my problem is that there is no trace of a death for solomon just seems to have disappear im wondering whether he ups sticks and alice put widow even thought she wasnt
long shot i know but could you see if there is any trace of him in any of your records

did either of his sons marry it may be worth getting their marriage certs as it usually says deceased if the parent has died. but strange there doesnt seem to be a death registered for him in uk wonder if he went to scotland or ireland unfortantly i dont have records for those may be worth asking for a look up in scotland or ireland though just in case

Thomas Silvey went to america 1886 , his wife Kate followed a year later with their 2 children,
John and George (thomas's brothers) follwed a few years later.
i must of made a mistake as to where james was in 1901,sorry.

Can you look on the USa military records ( probably WW1 I think)
for George Duce
born 1899 Southport, Lancs
He emigrated with his mother in 1904 and on the 1920 US census he is listed as a soldier in the US Army.

I guess at age 21 he could have been in WW1

I haven't been able to find him after 1920 but am listing details of the 1920 census for him below:

only draft registrations are online, those not actually serving in the army but registered, usually those too old to serve or unfit, actual service records can only be applied for by those that are next of kin in usa.

I know it says George was born in Wales but he wasn't - perhaps they just followed his mother's place of birth. I have his birth as Lancs from the 1901 census. Shame I can't request George's service record either.

cant find anything for a mark tordoff do you know his mothers name
there is a mark tordoff on a tree on ancestry but the father uriah was born in 1835 and mark 1869


this is the only tordoff male i can find born in rhode island around the right year he is son in law married to elizabeth occupation of harry is carpenter
